Players will need to gather shields from Slurp Barrels for a Fortnite Rust Lord challenge. As season 8 continues, Epic Games keeps adding new NPCs to the Fortnite map. Each of them will give players five different challenges they can complete. In order to start these challenges, players will need to find every NPC's location in Fortnite season 8. Two of the latest NPCs to be added to the game are Naruto's own Kakashi and Rust Lord. For one Rust Lord challenge, players will need to gather 30 shields from Slurp Barrels.
Rust Lord offers players the "Scrap King" questline. Like the other NPCs, he has five challenges to clear, all of which require the player to use their pickaxe to build or break something. Players can find Rust Lord west of Dirty Docks and must speak with him to begin his questline. Before doing so, it will be important for players to first make sure they have space on their quest list since Fortnite only allows them to carry five at a time. Players can carry more by sharing Fortnite quests with friends as long as those friends already have the quest available.
After speaking with Rust Lord and completing his first two challenges, "Destroy 30 structures with a vehicle" and "Hit 20 weak points while harvesting," players will be tasked with finding and destroying Slurp Barrels to gain shields. Fortunately, finding them isn't too difficult since there is a location specifically dedicated to Slurp Juice on the map. Players can find Slurp Barrels by heading over to the Slurp Factory at the heart of Sludgy Swamp.

To easily find and gather 30 shields from Slurp Barrels to complete Rust Lord's third Fortnite Season 8 quest, players should land in Sludgy Swamp and head directly inside the factory. Upon entering, players will notice Slurp Barrels filling the room. All they will need to do is approach one and break it with their pickaxe for it to count.
Each Slurp Barrel will give players 10 shields, so they just need to break three of these barrels to complete Rust Lord's challenge. There are around 40 barrels inside the buildings at Sludgy Swamp, so players should not have too much trouble finding one. Should all the barrels be destroyed by other players at this location already, there are more available in Shantytown or at Dampy Dish, both west of the swamp.
Gathering 30 shields from Slurp Barrels in Fortnite will reward the player with 30,000 XP toward leveling up their Season 8 Battle Pass and will unlock the next challenge in Rust Lord's line. Players can continue to collect Slurp Barrels in these locations to arm themselves with full shields for the rest of the match.
