Travis Scott has worked with Fortnite on several occasions, with the battle royale offering a slew of material inspired by the artist. Following the tragic Astroworld concert on November 5, Fortnite has scrapped plans to sell the Travis Scott emote.

Eight people died during the first day of Travis Scott’s Astroworld performance in Texas on November 5, and hundreds were injured. Many people have accused Travis Scott for not halting the event sooner after the incident so that people could get the aid they needed.

Travis Scott performed an in-game Fortnite performance in 2020, which was one of the game’s many events, and coincided with the debut of a Travis Scott skin. Fortnite also released a Travis Scott skin called “Out West,” which was inspired by a popular TikTok dance to the song “Out West” by JACKBOYS and Travis Scott, which features Young Thug.

Epic Games’ latest tweet hints that the Travis Scott emote in Fortnite may be removed. “It’s known that the ‘Daily’ part of the Item Shop has been disabled,” Epic Games writes on its Fortnite Status account, letting players know that this isn’t a fluke.

“This is purposeful,” Epic Games says, “and the ‘Daily’ portion will reappear with the next Item Shop refresh.” Travis Scott’s “Out West” emote was meant to be in today’s ‘Daily’ Item Shop rotation accompanying Astroworld’s ending, despite the fact that neither he nor any of his associations are mentioned here.

Travis Scott canceled the second day of Astroworld after the show on November 5. Many people appreciated the decision to delete the emotion in the post’s comments. Some players are perplexed as to why Epic Games did not simply replace the individual emotes rather than closing down the Item Shop entirely. In the past, Fortnite has removed emotes and other things for reasons such as emotes being used without the consent of the gesture’s author.

While Epic Games does not specifically mention Travis Scott, it appears that this deed in Fortnite is in honor of the tragedy’s victims. Although Epic Games would have been more emotional to talk explicitly about the occurrence, the emote’s discreet shutdown precludes it from being marketed.

Epic Games’ full retaliation would most likely consist of removing Travis Scott from Fortnite entirely or simply suspending the rotation of his stuff in the marketplace. Emotes and other goods in Fortnite cycle, with “Out West” being available on a monthly basis, so fans will know Epic Games’ attitude if the item reappears on December 8.
