After the climactic Collision event, the war between the IO and the resistance resulted in a win for the resistance. In celebration of the world not being blown up, Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 is far more laid back, with the title, Vibin’, promising one big party for everyone involved. That said, party or not, Fortnite’s still about battling for supremacy, so the fight goes on.
A new map, new weapons, new mechanics, and so much more are in store this season, and the first major update has already given us so much. We’re going to run through the biggest changes at the start of this new season, and let you know what you should be looking out for in Fortnite in 2022.
As is the way with live service games, a new season brings a new Battle Pass with all sorts of cool rewards. The highest-level rewards this time are all Star Wars themed, with the biggest prize being the Darth Vader skin, but that’s not all. You can get the neon-painted Wind Crawler Glider to jump from the battle bus in style or the Stormshielder Blades Pickaxes to destroy the terrain with violent fury.
Over Fortnite’s 21 seasons, plenty of exciting weapons and items have been added, but keeping all of them around at once would be way too much. To keep everything in check, the most popular items are cycled in and out of use every season, with old favourites returning this time around. Most notably is The Baller, a glass ball vehicle that can use a plunger to fling itself around. On top of that is the Chug Cannon, which heals those it’s aimed at, and the terrifying weather effects have returned, bringing tornados and lightning storms.
Bringing back old features is all well and good, but it wouldn’t be a new season without something completely original along the way, and there is a brilliant selection of weapons on offer. There’s the Two-Shot Shotgun which does exactly what it says on the tin the DMR, which is a semi-automatic sniper rifle, and finally, the Hammer Assault Rifle, which hits like a truck in exchange for a slower rate of fire.
The biggest new mechanic introduced is a status effect that will trouble you if you like to stay close to the storm called Storm Sickness, which we’ve explained in great detail in our Storm Sickness guide. To stop annoying tactics where some players would hang back in the storm and heal repeatedly, this status effect will cause you to take severely increased damage if you spend too much time inside the storm. If you get this status effect then it will be with you for the rest of the game, but it only affects you inside the storm, so make sure you steer clear of the edge of the play area.
arena fortnite rewards
Fortnite is a battle royale game developed by epic games and released back in 2017. The arena mode is a place for competitive players to test their skill. Enter your reward code to receive your fortnite item.In the wake of the IO’s destruction, a new biome has grown in the southwest corner of the map. This biome is full of strange, colourful, and beautiful plants that match the chill vibes this season is going for. The centrepiece of it is the Reality Tree, which can be seen for miles around. How this will develop over the season is still unknown, but right now you can find Reality Seeds at its base, which you can plant into Reality Saplings for great rewards. If you want to know more about them, you can check out our Reality Saplings guide.
