Ask any gamer from this generation of shooting games about the top battle royale games. They may state their favorites from the list of newcomers. Still, most will recognize Fortnite and PUBG as the grandfathers of the new video game subgenre. In fact, both Fortnite and PUBG are synonymous with the genre itself.

Games like Apex Legends and Call of Duty Warzone have been created thanks to them and some less popular others. While they have similarities, Fortnite and PUBG are different games. You don’t have to dive that deep beneath the surface to determine how Fortnite compares to PUBG.

As mentioned before, defining a battle royale is as easy as saying “Fortnite” or “PUBG.” Most people know what those games are and are familiar with how they are played. Ultimately, the game starts all the players in some type of flying apparatus that floats really high over a map for a short time while all the players on board pick a spot on the map to jump to with the hopes of landing on some delicious loot to survive the initial rush of landing.

Once you’ve landed and declared it’s safe, you run around like a chicken with its head cut off and scoop up everything you can find to help you kill the other team faster. While this is happening, a wall of gas, fire, smoke or lore-based energy is closing in, damaging those who dare to remain in its grasp. Eventually, you’ll be in a standoff with the remaining teams who you didn’t kill until one person or group is the “last man standing.”

While this chaotic description explains a single round of a given battle royale game, many nuances make all of the available battle royale games stand out from one another. At its surface, it’s just a PVP rogue-lite where you start another round fresh and are tasked with surviving until the very end. However, in the case of games like Fortnite and PUBG, the differences make them feel like totally different games.

Before you even play the game, you can tell that the developers of Fortnite and PUBG - Epic Games and Krafton, respectively - have different styles regarding the art direction and graphics they chose to represent their games. While PUBG’s user interface and character models resemble something more realistic and taken seriously, Fortnite opted for a much goofier approach to their in-game animations and graphics.

In PUBG, the fonts are familiar texts that you’d see in a book or a traditional poster. It feels more like Call of Duty than the two. It resembles war and may feel more competitive to newcomers jumping into their first match. At the same time, Fortnite feels more lighthearted. Even though you’re blasting each other’s faces off with shotguns, the goofy fonts and playful sound effects make it feel more like a children’s game, which arguably is why the target audience is younger than many other shooting games in this generation.

It’s no secret that Fortnite and PUBG have different audiences. While PUBG focuses on audiences looking for a more intense survival shooter to play in their free time, Fortnite uses its unorthodox playstyle and graphics to cater to a younger audience. That doesn’t mean that adults don’t play Fortnite.

Fortnite has been out for a long time, so middle-school players who are now adults still play the game. Also, adult streamers and content creators used Fortnite to connect with audiences of all ages. PUBG naturally seems more balanced within its target market, but the player base is older than Fortnite’s.

This is probably the most glaring difference between these two games, as Fortnite’s title is one of the more immense contrasts. If you aren’t living under a rock, Fortnite heavily emphasizes its material-based fortress building mechanic. There isn’t a technical term for it, but high-level Fortnite players have won competitive matches because of their fort-building skills. You cannot be successful in gunfights without having at least an intermediate to advanced level of understanding when it comes to fort logic in Fortnite.

Because of this, players spend more time in private lobbies honing their building skills than learning weapon metas and increasing their aim. Contrary to Fortnite’s emphasis on building mechanics, PUBG maintains a traditional focus on gunplay skills and map knowledge. As long as you play long enough and learn specific weapon meta and area strategies of the battlegrounds, you can be successful.

One other significant comparison is the player’s point of view. While PUBG runs traditional first-person points of view for its players, Fortnite is in third-person, which tremendously changes the game's pacing. There is no better point of view for players. It’s purely preferential, which players prefer, which may also explain why most hardcore gamers stay away from the third-person masterpiece that is Fortnite. First-person shooters tend to have a heavier focus on aim and precision. Third-person shooters notably favor environmental immersion and strategy. The case stands for Fortnite being a third-person shooter. No gamer can imagine building walls as fun in first-person.

Both video games have had wild success in their communities, especially since it crosses paths with content creators, players, and the rest of the world. However, Fortnite keeps bringing more to the table, allowing them to rake in more money than competitors. In 2020, sources reported that Epic Games earned 5.1 billion dollars in revenue from Fortnite alone. PUBG brought in about 2.7 billion dollars. Please note that’s nothing to scoff at. That’s way more successful than video games that came out several years than it. It’s still, however, half of what Fortnite has brought in. It makes it obvious which game is more popular, but it doesn’t accurately depict the success in each community.

As stated many times before, PUBG is considered by many to be the grandfather of battle royales, Fortnite just so happens to be more of a household name than PUBG, and no one will argue that. More content creators became famous, and the community (although hardcore games don’t want to admit it) will agree that Fortnite has paved the way for some creative followers to shooters' newly sprouted battle royale subgenre. It has even bled into other genres. Forza Horizon 4 introduced a racing version of the battle royale, and Tetris and Mario have had their own “last-man-standing” showdown modes.

Both games are excellent pass-times for all ages and communities. If you like first-person shooters that are more serious and fill the “hardcore” gamer mold, then jump in the battlegrounds of PUBG. If you’re okay with being in a gunfight with players who can build 20-foot mansions faster than you can put up a single wall, hop off the Fortnite bus.

Regardless of your choice, you can make a return off the time you’veinvested in either game if you head on over to Eldorado.gg. You’ll be able to trade your Fortnite accountsor PUBG accounts for real money just like you would with NFTs or other digital collectibles. The value of time spent gaming is hard to quantify, so head over there before you boot your next session of Fortnite or PUBG today.

Adding a new Challenge Pack every season in Fortnite has become a bit of a tradition, so it should be no surprise to see the Snake & Stones Pack make its way to the game in Season 6.

Featuring Lyra, a fan-made skin that was previously known as Viper, the Snake & Stones Pack will feature a teenage Medusa skin and also the ability to earn all of your money back by completing challenges.

Here’s everything you should know about the Snake & Stones Pack in Fortnite.

What’s In The Snake & Stones Pack?

“Lyra has never lost a staring contest. Seriously, try to win against her stone cold looks. Complete quests to earn V-Bucks with the Snakes & Stones Challenge Pack.”

– Lyra skin
– Agent Stones back bling
– Slitherous Staff pickaxe

You also have the ability to complete challenges to earn 1500 V-Bucks back, which makes the price of the pack seem more than worthwhile. You’re essentially getting everything in the pack for “free”, as long as you don’t mind staying in the Fortnite ecosystem.

Snake & Stones Quests

Here’s every quest/challenge to get your 1500 V-Bucks back:

Complete Uncommon or Rarer Quests (6) – 100 V-Bucks
Complete Uncommon or Rarer Quests (12) – 200 V-Bucks
Complete Uncommon or Rarer Quests (18) – 300 V-Bucks
Complete Uncommon or Rarer Quests (24) – 400 V-Bucks
Complete Uncommon or Rarer Quests (30) – 500 V-Bucks

All these quests really entail is you doing challenges like you do every Thursday. There’s no time limit on them, so you could even technically finish them in Season 7 if you so wished.

Fortnite Snake & Stones Pack Release Date

As for when the Snake & Stones Pack will release, it will almost certainly be before the next update releases. Sometimes these special packs can take a while to actually enter the game, but we expect to be playing as Lyra before v16.50 drops.

It should then be available for at least the rest of the season, if not longer.

Fortnite Lyra Pack Price

Based on previous Challenge Packs, the Lyra pack should cost between $9.99 and $14.99, though most likely the former based on recent prices. You will only be able to buy the pack with real money, not V-Bucks.

As already mentioned, the good thing about these packs is that you can basically earn your money back by completing challenges, which are almost always extremely straightforward.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.

As anyone who plays fortnite knows, presentation has become a big part of the battle royale game with players often able to show off their stylish skills via character skins.
Chloe Kim is a world renowned half pipe snowboarder and she is making her way into Fortnite.

Yes, we know it’s March and in some places, it’s already 20 degrees outside and people are bringing out their grills to have BBQs at the lake. But not in Fortnite. No, Fortnite has other plans, because we’re headed to snowy Penguin Peak to enjoy some time on the slopes. Spring snowboarding is the best after all.

So, while you can’t build anymore and the existence of Tilted Towers is still in limbo, we’ve got some other fun stuff to distract us from all that and that is a whole new skin as part of Fortnite’s icon series. It's none other than two time Olympic gold medalist, Chloe Kim!

Chloe Kim Joins Fortnite Icon Series

Chloe Kim is an American snowboard sensation. In 2018, she won her first Olympic gold medal in the snowboard half pipe and managed to follow up her success in 2022 again as well. If that doesn’t sound like an icon, then I don’t know what else we have to tell you.

Now, if you’re not hyped already just to have such an insanely talented athlete in Fortnite, then get this, the Chloe Kim outfit is going to have four alternative styles. You won’t have to run around in the same old snowsuit, but you can adjust it to your mood.

These are the four styles you can get for her:

  • Back to Back: Black snowsuit adorned with a gold dragon — inspired by her back-to-back gold medal victories.
  • Pink Poppies: Pink and blue snowsuit with a change in hair color to match.
  • Icy Infusion: Reactive! Start out looking like the Pink Poppies Style each match, then as you get more eliminations, become as icy as the Deep Freeze Style below.
  • Deep Freeze Style: A frozen take on the Pink Poppies Style.

What Accessories Are Available With The Chloe Kim Set?

Of course, it isn’t a new Fortnite skin without some epic new back bling, am I right? So, with the new Chloe Kim skin, you’ll be able to get the Sub-Zero Flight Back Bling, just so you can show off how high you can go in the half pipe.

Not only that, but Epic Games also made the Frozen Flourish Pickaxe, which will leave the competition in the cold. A new glider shaped like an icy dragon is also included, as well as a Board Flair emote with which you can show off your winter sport style.

When Will The Chloe Kim Skin Be Available?

You can find this skin in the shop as of March 26, 2022. She is going to be part of the icon series and make everyone’s heads turn on the island.

If you don’t want to spend any cash on it though, then you’ve got a chance to get this outfit a day early for free. You just have to spend some time playing Fortnite. Seriously, all you have to do is enter the Chloe Kim Cup on Thursday, March 24.

This is a no-build duo tournament. Top performing players in each region will unlock the Chloe Kim Outfit and accessories prior to the outfit's debut in the shop! Anyone who gets a total of eight points will also receive the Nunbola’s Flight Loading screen!

So, if you have already enabled 2-factor authentication and your account is level 50 or above, you’ll be able to compete in the Chloe Kim Cup to receive this new outfit for free. Best of luck to all!

Collect COG Tags is one of the Gears of War challenges in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1.

These challenges - referred to as the Delta-One set - are only available for a limited time and, if you complete them all before the deadline, you'll receive a special Gears of War spray.

Completing this challenge will also reward you with 25k XP, which will help you unlock rewards from the first Chapter 3 Battle Pass.

Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. What's new? Chapter 3 Season 3 has arrived! COG tags locations in Fortnite at a glance

There are 10 sets of COG tags scattered across the new Fortnite map for this challenge:

The COG tag locations in Fortnite.

Remember - you need to collect three sets of COG tags to complete this challenge, which means you must visit three different locations. Thankfully, a number of the tags are located quite close together, so it's possible to complete this challenge in one match.

How to collect COG tags in Fortnite

To complete this challenge, you need to collect three sets of COG from across the Fortnite map. These tags are collected by interacting with them - just like how you would with any other collectable item.

If you want to complete this challenge quickly, we recommend collecting the three COG tags sets located in the northern, snowy, section of the map, because, unlike some of the other tags, they are located quite close to each other. This means you can easily complete this challenge in one match.

One set of COG tags is located at the base of the red bridge just south of Shifty Shafts. You can reach it by either going down the westward set of the stairs within the bridge or by dropping down to the riverbank and climbing up onto the base of the westward pillar.

Another set of COG tags can be found in the northern part of Shifty Shafts near the shack located at the base of the mountain.

The third set of COG tags can be found just north of Logjam Lumberyard by a rock close to the road.

“You get the golf clap from me Mr. Embiid, you are my MVP” Shaquille O'Neal crowns Joel Embiid the MVP after mindblowing outing against Toronto Raptors

“You get the golf clap from me Mr. Embiid, you are my MVP” Shaquille O'Neal crowns Joel Embiid the MVP after mindblowing outing against Toronto Raptors

Former NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal has named Joel Embiid the MVP following the Philadelphia 76ers superstar's dominating performance against the Toronto Raptors in Game 3 of their first-round series.

Embiid started with just five points in the first half as the Sixers trailed by 10 points by the end of halftime.

However, the Cameroonian turned up big time in the second half and overtime, scoring 28 of his 33 points during that stretch. This included the game-winning 3-point shot that led his team to a 114-111 comeback win.

O'Neal was highly impressed by Embiid's heroics during the game. Here's what the 'Big Diesel' had to say about it on Inside The NBA (via NBA on TNT):

"Me and Chuck (Charles Barkley) been on it for the last two years. I've got nothing to say. You get the golf clap from me Mr. Embiid, you are my MVP."
"I don't know how the votings go, that's how you talk trash to the coach, tell him what you gonna do, and you dominate. He's superfocused, he wants to be a champion, he's playing great."

"He's playing so good we don't even have to mention James Harden" - Shaquille O'Neal heaps praise on Joel Embiid

The Philadelphia 76ers managed to acquire James Harden at the trade deadline this year. The former MVP was expected to elevate the team to a whole new level.

Despite a solid start to life in Philadelphia, the former Houston Rockets star has struggled to play at the level fans expect from him. Nevertheless, the 76ers haven't been affected by his poor run of form.

Shaquille O'Neal also mentioned Harden's form on Inside the NBA, saying:

"He's (Joel Embiid) is playing so good we don't even have to mention James Harden not being the James Harden that we're used to. Kudos to you Mr. Embiid, love the way you're playing."

Harden has averaged 18.3 points and 10 assists per game across the first three games of the first-round series, shooting just over 40% from the field.

Right arrow for carousel

Left arrow for carousel

Meanwhile, Joel Embiid has carried his MVP-caliber form into the postseason, averaging 27.7 points per game, shooting 49.9% from the field.

As O'Neal mentioned, Embiid seems more determined than ever to win his first NBA championship. If he continues to play at this level throughout the playoffs, the 76ers will be a force to be reckoned with.

However, Harden will have to improve on his production and efficiency as that could drastically swing the odds in favor of Philadelphia.

All creator Icon Series skins in Fortnite

fortnite lunch break emote

Epic Games’ Fortnite is known for its extensive number of skins, each one more unique than the next.

Over the years, countless superheroes and characters from movies and TV shows have found themselves battling it out for a Victory Royale. But fictional characters aren’t the only ones that have transformed into members of the Fortnite universe.

In January 2019, Epic released the first skin for its Icon Series, a new rarity of skins that feature and resemble influential people from the real world. Musician Marshmello was the first person to receive an in-game version of themself and was later joined by more artists and other celebrities.

In 2020, a new subseries was added to the Icon Series with the addition of popular Fortnite creators.

Here are all of the creators in the Icon Series.

Ninja

Image via Epic Games

Tyler “Ninja” Blevins was the first creator to have himself immortalized as an in-game character. Considering his massive success in the early years of Fortnite, it wasn’t surprising to see him be the first to receive a signature Fortnite skin.

The Ninja bundle was released on Jan. 16, 2020, and included the Ninja outfit with two additional styles, Ninja’s edge back bling, and the Dual Katanas pickaxe. His signature “Pon Pon” victory dance was added to the bundle as an emote.

Loserfruit

Image via Epic Games

Australian streamer Kathleen “Loserfruit” Belsten was the first and so far is the only female creator who’s a part of the Icon Series.

Released on June 22, 2020, the Loserfruit bundle featured a fruity collection of cosmetic items, including an animated Loserfruit outfit, Buddy Bag back bling, and Fruit Punchers pickaxe. The Bounce Berry emote shows her watering a plant that turns into her signature strawberry logo.

Lachlan

Lachlan Power was the third creator to receive his in-game counterpart. The Lachlan skin first became available to the winners of the Lachlan’s Pickaxe Frenzy tournament, which took place on Nov. 8, 2020. The outfit arrived in the Fortnite item shop a few days later on Nov. 12.

The Lachlan bundle featured an electric-themed Lachlan skin, PWR Pack back bling, and PWR Slicers pickaxe. PWR Punch emote was also included.

TheGrefg

On Jan. 11, 2021, Spanish creator David Cánovas “TheGrefg” Martínez showcased his upcoming Icon Series bundle and broke Twitch’s viewership record in the process, peaking at 2,470,347 concurrent viewers. The Grefg bundle was officially released two days later and featured a reactive outfit alongside the Balls of Power back bling, Staff of Control pickaxe, and Controller Crew emote.

So far, theGrefg is the only non-English speaking creator in the Icon Series.

Lazarbeam

Image via Epic Games

In March 2021, Lannan “Lazarbeam” Eacott joined the Icons, soon after becoming a host on the Party Royale Radio Station. Lazarbeam was also the third Aussie creator in the series, making half of the creator squad Australian.

Referencing his early work as a construction worker, Lazarbeam’s signature set features him in different styles of construction wear, including the Baby Gingy back bling, Ol’ Mate Sledgy pickaxe, and Lunch Break emote.

Bugha

Image via Epic Games

Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf is the latest creator to join the Icon Series. Bugha made Fortnite history in 2019 by winning the Fortnite World Cup at only 16 years old, taking home a whopping $3 million in prize money. His Icon Series skin was released two years later on July 21, 2021.

Bugha’s Icon bundle includes three variations of the Bugha outfit, a Trophy back bling featuring his pet pug Zoey, and the Bugha Blades pickaxe. The Bring it Around emote was based on a dance done by Bugha after winning the title.

Since Fortnite’s popularity shows no signs of stopping, it’s likely we’re going to see more creators joining the Icon Series soon. This article will be updated accordingly.

H1Z1's vehicular Auto Royale mode attempts a driveby shooting on Fortnite and PUBG

fortnite h1z1

It’s made a fantastic amount of money, it invaded almost half of all nintendo. This game presents the best combination of word search, crosswords, and iq games. The bigger they are, the harder they fall, they say.

Fortnite currently sits at the top of the battle royale pile with over 45 million players and 3.4 million concurrents. It is at the summit of a ridiculously complex – but still destructible – structure of its own making. Prowling in the vicinity, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds lies prone in the long grass, keeping its rival under patient surveillance, ready to strike with a fearsome and realistic arsenal. H1Z1, despite a strong start and an impressive number of kills, died in the opening stages, choking on toxic gas.

Hopefully, you possess the knowledge required to understand this rather laboured metaphor: when it comes to battle royale games, Fortnite and PUBG are the big hitters. It is a market grab that has seen H1Z1 haemorrhage 91% of its player base since July 2017.

Find out why 2018 is the year the battle royale genre will go from strength to strength.

But there is always another round and, this time, H1Z1 developers Daybreak Games hope to find a more effective drop spot [I didn’t commission a Metaphor Royale, Harry – ed] with a 1.0 launch after three years in Early Access and a brand new battle royale mode: Auto Royale.

Where Epic Games found success by adding construction to this now famous formula – not to mention also making it free – Daybreak are looking to replicate that success with cars. Vehicles already exist in H1Z1 but the twist this new mode introduces is that the entirety of the game will take place behind the wheel. You and three other eager petrolheads have to survive while remaining in the safe zone using either a Sedan or the brand new military vehicle, the Armoured Recon Vehicle (ARV) – the two motors available at launch. At the moment, only four-person teams are supported, although Daybreak have internally tested a duo mode which could emerge in the coming weeks.

In action this is still very much H1Z1. For a game that already distinguished itself in the battle royale arena with its rapid pace and penchant for action-heavy gameplay, Auto Royale does well to take things up a notch. At launch, the mode supports up to 30 vehicles in each match; that’s 120 vicious joyriders. Successful H1Z1 players should have passed their driving test with flying colours by now: the unforgiving toxic gas that shrinks the play area in H1Z1’s main battle royale mode means that securing a vehicle is often not just desirable but essential.

h1z1 auto royale explosion

Interestingly, this new mode on which Daybreak are now pinning all their hopes came about by accident. According to the studio’s general manager, Anthony Castoro, Auto Royale was born from a developmental experiment: to find a new way for players to shoot from inside of cars.

“Right now when you shoot out of a car you do it from the inside it can be a little clunky and challenging,” Castoro says. “So we made this animation system – kind of like in Grand Theft Auto – where you lean out of the car’s window, over the hood, or over the roof and aim in 360.

“But we found that a group of three or four people all firing at the same time at another team on foot were too powerful.” As such, it was judged impossible to add without being game breaking, but Castoro’s team had so much fun that they had it form the foundation of a new battle royale mode.

h1z1 auto royale toxic gas

Unlike the most popular battle royale games today, H1Z1 normally does not allow you to choose your starting location. While this is to change in the normal mode as part of the 1.0 launch it will stay in place in Auto Royale for the time being. The match commences with you and your team in your car inside a crate that parachutes down to a random location. Then you are dramatically spat out like a cannonball, guns already equipped. That is unless your hunger for vehicular carnage is so overwhelming that you shoot your way out early.

Surely, though, the speed a car confers reduces the initial peril of being outside the first safe zone? “We did have to modify the speeds and timing of the gas to make sure it was still compelling,” Castoro admits. However, while you might be able to easily evade the deadly gas at the round’s outset, the temptation to risk skirting the edge of the gas in search of better loot remains a thrill. The rhythm of a match might be different but the core laws of the battle royale game are immutable.

While you are armed at the beginning of Auto Royale you will still need to find a way to get an edge on the competition. This comes in either single-use or permanent forms. The former, such as oil slicks, smoke canisters, and landmines are useful for frustrating a pursuer, but there are also four perks that last as long as you can avoid becoming an ignominious wreck by the side of the road.

h1z1 auto royale ramp

The first of these permanent perks is a roll cage to reduce the damage you take driving madly through fences and objects. Then there is a boost to speed when driving through shallow lakes and dried-up riverbeds – a significant advantage if the safe zone is centered on a boggy area. Third is a health upgrade for the car and your team, and lastly there is bulletproof glass, which better protects your passengers from gunfire so long as they are not leaning out of the car.

These power-ups are dotted liberally across the map, some ready to be driven over and collected, whereas others are hidden in destructible crates or released from the torched remains of another team’s vehicle. To increase the tension, better and more powerful perks are released more frequently at the business end of the match. If, by this time, your team finds themselves without any pickups, you do at least have the guns from the start to rely on: successful shots on other players can incapacitate them, necessitating a heal or seat swap. The former, of course, temporarily takes another of your number out of the game.

Some items only drop in mid-air, however, and only reachable with the smattering of ramps that have been added to the map. I witness a number of ridiculous manoeuvres as cars launch themselves off boost pads onto tall towers, only to make another daring jump and come crashing down on a rival team. Your capacity to pull this off will depend on your vehicle: the comparatively fragile Sedan allows you to be more agile in your movement, but the ARV, despite its slowness, takes more damage and has an armoured rear.

h1z1 auto royale ARV

It takes no time for the round I watch to descend into madness. Fire ravenously licks at a patch of oil, trapping a few victims in its emergent chaos. It is “like Twisted Metal meets Mario Kart,” Castoro suggests. You could say the action has been really ramped up.

At first glance, the map hardly looks any different in terms of its layout and aesthetic. H1Z1 is not an attractive game and, from what I can see, this new mode has not changed much. However, PUBG proves that the bewitching concept of the battle royale transcends graphical beauty. In fact, most of the changes and shortcuts that make Auto Royale possible were completed in a matter of weeks.

“It was actually easier than we originally anticipated,” Castoro says. “We were able to reuse the Z2 map without having to do a huge update or major changes to the map.” The team found that, when you are locked inside a car, you have little need for home decor.

Auto Royale, despite coming into existence in just a few weeks and pretty much by happenstance, takes the battle royale genre in an intriguing new direction. The undertones of Grand Theft Auto and Twisted Metal introduced with a vehicles-only mode present the possibilities of tremendous anarchic fun with friends. Lapsed H1Z1-ers should give this free update a go, but as far as whether Auto Royale will herald a sea change at the summit of the most popular battle royale games of the moment, I am unconvinced.

For H1Z1 to restore and then build on its player base zenith of late-2016 seems impossible, especially given how recognisable the top titles in the genre are, and the sheer number of battle royale upstarts on the way. Auto Royale is entertaining but, if it is successful, a certain PlayerUnknown will likely come a-poachin’.

H1Z1 launches from Early Access and adds the free Auto Royale update today. Let us know whether you will be getting behind the battle royale wheel in the comments below.

However, YouTuber Tabour Hill has found a workaround for this system. According to his video, he urges fans to sign into their Fortnite account of choice through the link he has provided. This link essentially synchronizes a PlayStation Network or Xbox Live account with a player’s Epic Games account. Following this, the pack should be visible on the console store as well.

Epic Games also added the Snakes and Stones challenge pack to the battle royale. This is a medusa-theme challenge pack featuring the new Lyra skins and Slitherous Serpent pickaxe. Additionally, it also gives players a chance to earn up to 1500 V-Bucks for completing the accompanying challenges.

Everything we know so far about Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2

Everything we know so far about Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2

Olivia Richman • March 8, 2022 11:24 pm

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 is coming to an end. That means another season is coming soon, and while Epic Games hasn’t revealed much about it, a lot has already been leaked.

Season 2 is going to bring big changes to Fortnite. Here is everything fans have uncovered leading up to the start of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2.

When does Chapter 3 Season 2 arrive?

Fortnite’s next season is expected to drop around March 20.

The Season 1 battle pass is expiring on March 19, a detail fans have noticed in the game’s menu. The next season coming the very next day makes sense, as it falls on a Monday just as many of the season starts that have come before it.

While the March 20 speculation falls in line with Epic’s usual pattern, a delay between Season 1 and Season 2 is also possible. Either way, there is most likely a Season 1 finale event coming very soon.

Is Chapter 3 Season 1 getting a finale event in Fortnite?

Data miners have not found an exact finale event in the battle royale’s files. This could mean there is no finale event for this latest season of Fortnite, or that there may be a live event in store focused on The Paradigm’s return. There is also a chance another update could occur with a finale loaded into its files, but most Fortnite players think it’s too late for another patch of that nature.

This means that there likely won’t be a traditional finale event for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1.

What is coming to Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 2?

This is something that Fortnite fans are wondering but data miners haven’t uncovered just yet. While waiting for Epic to announce Season 2’s information officially, some leaks have come to light showing what is coming to Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2.

Here's some content that was being worked on this season but still unfinished, most likely for S2:

– Tanks
– Cattus Cave
– Tactical Sprint
– Double Deagle
– Jetpacks Chest
– Clamber Mechanic
– Tactical Overshield
– Zeppelin (maybe IO NPCs)
– Vehicle Mods: Armor & Turret

Some interesting items are possibly coming to Season 2. This includes the weapons Mythical Thermal AR, Shockwave Bow, and Wolverine Blades. There may also be a legendary backpack item that heals 50 shield for players and their teammates. The Squad Burst Healer item will heal 75 HP for the full squad.

For now, Fortnite players will have to wait to see what Season 2 will officially have in store.

Shaping future through screen time at iCode Waco Waco Tribune

Shaping future through screen time at iCode Waco Waco Tribune

Weeks after opening its doors, iCode Waco is buzzing with summer camps and anticipating the start of after-school programs where local students make screen time productive.

Anyone with a tech-savvy child knows the addictive nature of games like Fortnite, Roblox or Minecraft, which on its own attracted over 130 million users in 2020. But there is more to these popular games than meets the eye.

Older generations might recall opening their Nintendo console with a screwdriver or tinkering with a ham radio. Today there is exponentially more technology for a child to deconstruct and reassemble. Those concerned that today’s children suffer from a lack of curiosity have only to look to a new medium to find that the “how-does-it-work” child never left.

Though they are typically used for play, Minecraft and other popular games can be useful tools for teaching students how to access and manipulate different types of code, the system of language and rules on which games are built.

Just as someone who loves to drive can learn to modify an engine, so too can tech-savvy students learn to modify their favorite games. Incidentally, this skill involved with tinkering under the hood of a video game is the same one used to create digital experiences adults interact with every day.

Leveling-up Skills

When someone scrolls through social media, speaks a voice command to a smart device, or buys a pair of shoes online, they are interacting with code. Each line of code is written by a programmer or computer scientist, among other names.

Basic programming competency is becoming more crucial for students entering the increasingly technology-focused workforce, according to iCode Waco owner Gary Vickers.

“STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education and computer science is our future, and we saw a need to advance Waco’s workforce, starting with our children,” Vickers said.

Consequently, iCode Waco’s focus is promoting and channeling technology interest in students from kindergarten through 12th grade through projects that not only give students a comprehensive foundation in technology but also celebrate critical thinking, collaboration and creativity.

Piper Green, director of operations at iCode Waco and a former educator, knows this approach bridges the gap for local students who often need more instruction than public school initiatives, individual tutoring or self-education can provide.

“Technology is like any other skill,” Green said. “Students need time, a challenge, and support to reach their full potential.”

Clicking keys and determined conversation are audible from the different hubs inside iCode, located in the Crossroads Shopping Center, where students work on a variety of projects in small classes.

In the iSports hub, students code custom modifications within Minecraft Mods, Roblox Editor or Construct 3. Budding digital artists design virtual reality spaces and 2D and 3D graphics in another hub. Down the hall, students create objects through 3D printing, build robots and program drones.

On certain afternoons, students battle robots in a specially constructed arena. The aim is simple: pick apart your opponent’s robot or push it outside the arena boundary. Green recalled one student who, after his first battle, decided to modify his robot with a swivel action.

In the next round, his robot grabbed pieces of the opponent, swiveled, and darted off in a direction the other robot was unable to follow. This robot, which the group termed as “unbeatable,” was the handiwork of a second-grader.

Coding for Success

“The goal is to equip our students with a strong foundation in computer science, while enriching their overall academic strength,” Green said. “They’re challenged to problem-solve, be creative, and practice leadership and teamwork alike.”

Developed by experts in education and technology at the national iCode headquarters, the iCode curriculum ensures that an emphasis on critical thinking is hard-wired into each project. Instructors are schooled in coaching students to use a combination of skill and teamwork to overcome challenges.

Green said watching students overcome challenges, meet their project objectives, and expand on them is rewarding for students, instructors and parents alike. iCode Waco celebrates student achievements with ceremonies, badges and more, she said.

Green said she encourages parents to bring a flash drive to save their student’s achievements. The ceremonies often mark a rare opportunity to observe their child’s skill.

“It’s amazing to see the ‘a-ha’ moments from the parents when they realize the incredible talent and work ethic their child has,” Green said.

These achievements also translate to resumes for those students who decide to choose computer science as a career, she said.

Programmed for Fall

To find out more, parents can call iCode Waco and schedule a visit. The team at iCode will determine the best program fit for a student’s interests and goals. A free trial class allows students to test out the program.

This fall iCode is offering the following after-school programs:

Signature Belt Program (most popular) — The belt program follows a curriculum that gives students a comprehensive technical foundation as they move through nine achievement levels. Students work in small class settings with an instructor to complete their belt projects (two hours per week for 9-12 months).

Paths Program — This program allows students to spend time mastering technologies that interest them most. In a small class setting with an instructor, students focus on their favorite games and platforms including YouTube production, Roblox, Minecraft, Python, Java, web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), game development and more (Two hours per week for 3-9 months).

Anytime Program — This flexible, self-paced program allows students to complete a curriculum that targets coding through games with guidance from an iCode Waco instructor. By the end of the program, students will have coded a game from start to finish (no specific time commitment).

After-school programs — For participating districts in the Waco area, iCode offers programs on school campuses that are STEM-based and instructor-led (two hours per week).

Leaked Fortnite skins and cosmetic items from v9.20 update

. Last updated: Jun 06, 2019

The v9.20 update for v9.20 update introduces Storm Flip, a brand new item that creates a safe zone when thrown inside of the storm, or brings the power of the storm to unaffected locations when tossed outside of it.

As always, Epic Games have also added a number of new cosmetic items to the game, which players can purchase and use to make their characters stand out while playing the popular battle royale title.

The Storm Flip item was included in the v9.20 update.

[ad name=”article2″]

The developers often add a plethora of cosmetics in each major update, but these are hidden away inside the patch files, with fans of the game not supposed to see them until they are made available in the game’s Item Shop.

For those who love cosmetic items, the good news is that data miners can extract these items before they are made public, giving Fortnite fans a sneak peek at what they can expect to see before Epic Games makes them live.

However, just because Epic Games have added a cosmetic item to the game’s files doesn’t guarantee we will definitely see it in the future, as the developers have been known to include skins that are never made available to the public.

This week’s update includes a ton of new skins, back bling and harvesting tools, alongside some new music packs and a couple weapon wraps.

Thanks to @HYPEX and @xkleinmikex for these leaks.
