The Fortnite Lantern-branded event is back, and ESTNN has all the details!
Epic Games orchestrated the Lantern Trials last May, where players could win free in-game rewards and participate in a Middle East creator crossover event. It’s been almost a year since the inaugural Lantern Trials. Today, Epic announced a similar event, dubbed Lantern Fest 2022.
The developers published a blog post detailing Lantern Fest, including another round of Lantern Trials, Fortography and more. Here’s everything you need to know.

Epic’s blog post covered various topics and offerings involved in the event. First, Lantern Fest features a Fortography competition—Fortnite’s version of a photography contest. This version lets players take a picture of their character beside a lantern; you’ll see many of these objects on the Island.
Once snapping a photo, you can post it on Twitter with the #Lantography2022. Those who post the best pictures can win the “Cameo Needs Loot!” Emoticon. The contest begins tomorrow, April 2, at 10 AM EST and concludes on April 8 at 11:59 PM EST. Be sure to check out the rules for more information!
Lantern Trials Coming Soon & Power Shong Bundle
Unfortunately, Epic did not provide details about the Lantern Trials. We can safely expect to see an in-game event like last time, where you have to accomplish tasks to unlock in-game rewards. The last Lantern Trials offered a free Emote, Spray and Wrap. That should give you an idea of what we might see when the developers provide more details.
Lastly, Epic Games has collaborated with creator Power Shong to build and offer his personalized locker bundle. We’ve seen similar cases before, where professional players and creators work with Epic to have their bundle featured in the Item Shop. The bundle will be available in the Item Shop on April 19 at 8 PM EST.
