Fortnite event time: When does Fortnite Chapter 3 start? Is the Fortnite live event over?

UPDATE TWO: A new rumour suggests that Fortnite Chapter 3 will start at 3pm GMT on Sunday, December 5, 2021. Several leaks have surfaced that include today as the official launch date for the new season, which will end in March 2022.

For gamers in North America, that would mean Fortnite downtime ending at around 10am EDT, followed by a update being released.

UPDATE: The Fortnite Chapter 3 Live Event is now over and Epic Games has confirmed that the new season of the game will start after downtime has been completed.

Fortnite has been taken offline for server maintenance ahead of Chapter 3, with the end of season event featuring the debut of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as The Foundation.

It ended with the destruction of the Cube Queen, and the island flipping over. Once the island flipped upside down, players were engulfed by a huge tidal wave, and the game was taken offline. It should be noted that a new map will be available to play as soon as Fortnite Chapter 3 begins, which is expected over the coming days.

This means you will be playing a role in what happens in what is likely to be the finale of the current Cube storyline. The only drawback is that you will need to be active and logged into the servers when everything starts kicking off, as this won’t be a repeated experience.

Epic Games has confirmed they will be hosting this thing once, and unlike concerts, there will not be multiple time slots available. Unlike past seasons, Fortnite is set to begin a new chapter, meaning there will be a lot of new content going live after the live event has ended.

A fresh map for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season One is expected to be unveiled and could even be featured during this weekend’s live event. The finale of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 will feature an epic battle against the Cube Queen, who is described as the ultimate destroyer of all reality.
