With Christmas Day now firmly in the rear-view mirror, Fortnite players have been tasked with dismantling the seasonal decorations that are strewn around the island.
The game's Winterfest celebrations are technically not meant to end until January 6, but it does feel like the holiday cheer is already waning. Not only have all the gifts been unwrapped over at Cozy Lodge, but the frozen Peely costume has completely thawed and now even Sgt. Winters (who is basically Fortnite's equivalent of Santa Claus) is getting sick of it all.
For this reason, he has instructed you to take down the remaining Christmas ornaments in the game world (or more accurately, to obliterate them) and is willing to reward you with some bonus XP for your troubles.
Until now, most of these Winterfest quests have been decidedly jolly, asking you to do things like round up missing toys and play with snow, but as the event draws to a close we can expect them to become increasingly Grinch-like.
If you are eager to appease Sgt. Winters and want to destroy those pesky holiday decorations, Newsweek has prepared the following guide that shows the best place to find them. Bah humbug etc.
Where to Find Holiday Decorations in "Fortnite" Chapter 3
Here, the broad term "holiday decorations" is being used to encompass everything from nutcracker figures to oversized candy canes, gingerbread men, Christmas trees and cut-out snowflakes. While you can find any of these objects in random locations around the island, you will need to destroy at least 10 of them if you want to complete the Winterfest quest.
Luckily, there is a spot that is just perfect for hitting this target in one easy trip. If you head over to the top of the map, in the Sleepy Sound region, there is a suburban area on the northern side of the lake. Here you will find plenty of holiday decorations to smash with your harvesting tool.
One house in particular is surrounded by candy canes that each take one hit to destroy. There is also another building that has snowflakes hanging from the windows and by demolishing the adjacent wall you can take care of three decorations in one swoop.
Other things to look out for around here include the gingerbread men on the rooftops and the holly wreaths. Incidentally, the model loot llamas that are covered in fairy lights do not seem to count as holiday decorations for some reason, so you can just leave those alone.
