35. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Our Ranking | 5th Best Open-world RPG |
Awards | Nominated For Innovation in Accessibility & Best Action/Adventure at The Game Awards 2020 |
Release Date | November 10, 2020 |
Developer & Publisher | Ubisoft |
Gameplay Type | Single-player RPG |
Back when Ubisoft initially announced reboots of The AC franchise, they opted to spice up the series by implementing an Open World RPG blend to it. Assassin’s creed Valhalla was the third game in this new series and focused on the Norse Mythology era where Vikings rampaged the world for their conquest and glory.
The game introduces deeper role-playing mechanics than ever before but still maintains the spirit of the franchise as you can still use the Wrist Blade to take down your enemies with finesse and in stealth. Aside from that, there are several ways that you can customize Eivor, such as using the Best Dawn Of Ragnarok Weapons, which are found in that DLC and are quite overpowered.
Furthermore, unlocking Skills will undoubtedly help you craft the Best Builds in the game. So with two amazing DLCs called the Wrath of the Druids and The Dawn Of Ragnarok, the game will easily keep you invested for hundreds of hours. Lastly, if you’re eager to learn more about it, we suggest reading our Review of AC Valhalla on why it is one of our Best PS5 third-person games on the list.
The Exploration Aspect In Valhalla Is Intriguing
When it comes to exploring every inch of New England, there are tons of ways that you can go about it whether it’s tackling the enormous fortresses scattered around the map or even diving headfirst into battles with your allies during stronghold raids. The game rewards your fruitful time by dishing out tons of rewards ranging from new weapons and armor to interesting tidbits about the world in the form of hidden Collectibles.
There are new settlements to discover as Eivor, as well as ancient ruins, which will reward players with mysterious artifacts that will be beneficial on their journey. Take your time as you go through the game because, just as mentioned, there is no end to the number of activities to do in this game that makes you invest countless hours unraveling every location and marker.
How Valhalla Is Different From AC Odyssey And Origins
There are quite a majority of fans that would like to argue that Valhalla feels unnecessarily bloated to the point where it becomes a drag to progress through the main quest and continue the game. But when compared to Odyssey and Origins, for that matter, make no question that Valhall should be treated as an RPG game at most.
Don’t get us wrong, and the game still has that Assassin’s Creed theme and narrative stamped on it, but players who are looking for the traditional style of the series will no longer find it here, for now, at least. You can almost call it similar to other single-player RPGs such as Witcher 3 or even Skyrim, where you will end up investing an enormous time unearthing every secret as well as completing most of the activities and side quests.
As long as you play the game in short intervals, it shouldn’t feel too repetitive as most players quite honestly enjoy getting more powerful and stronger with the stuff that they unlock towards the mid-game. Furthermore, fleshing out your own Viking settlement can feel like a chore at times, but nonetheless, it will also reward you with a bountiful of rewards and helpful bonuses.

It can get quite overwhelming to play the game in 2022 with all of the latest expansions. But truth be told, once you get past the beginning slogfest, then Warframe is sure to pour down tons of amazing riches and loot to satisfy your power-hunger fantasy.
Why Warframe Is The Best Free-To-Play Third-Person Online Shooter

Sure, there are tons of other amazing games like Destiny 2 that, since going F2P, have attracted a countless number of players, but make no mistake that Warframe still comes close and lives wholeheartedly in the hearts of its fanbase for being the best in its own right.
33. Fortnite
Fortnite was initially launched as the “Save The World” PvE campaign, but soon there was a battle royale version developed alongside it. Little did anyone know, the game would soon take the world by storm, and now in 2022, it is arguably one of the greatest battle royale games of all time, with millions of players logging on to play it.
The game has received numerous updates over the course of the years, which have undoubtedly shifted its core design and mechanics for far good or worse. But there is no denying the fact that the game has the largest roster of the Best Skins, such as Goku from DBZ and Masterchief from the Halo series. The game is highly skill-based, but you can learn which firearms to use against your opponents through our Weapons Tier List for Fortnite.
The game has a massive surge of players who regularly play it which will often break the servers of the game, thus issuing Matchmaking errors in it. However, there is still no denying the sheer popularity of the game, which skyrocketed so much to the extent that it became the Best Games To Stream On Twitch. It has several tournaments each month where players can compete and earn large amounts of cash prizes.
The game looks insanely gorgeous on the PS5 thanks to the new hardware built in it, making it our personal favorite third-person multiplayer game for the platform. Plus, if you have the skills to chew through most of your opponents, then you will be racking up the victories in no time flat.
The Game Is Immensely Fun With Friends
While there is denying that the game can be difficult to get into if you are a relatively new player or just someone who’s never played battle royale games. It is worth recommending that you should definitely invite a friend or two to join you in the fray of the battle. Fortnite offers plenty of game modes that you can play with unique ones, such as the chaotic 50 versus 50, making it tremendously hectic and enjoyable in a dedicated squad of buddies.
Lastly, the game also supports crossplay across multiple devices, even on Smartphones such as Android and Apple, where users can join up with their friends on Console and PC. It is heavily optimized for each platform according to the hardware, so you should not face too many problems running it with ease to play it. Plus, with cross-save, you can easily carry your skins and battle pass progression across each of these platforms.
The Huge Impact Of Fortnite On The Gaming Industry
Fortnite has largely become a worldwide phenomenon with the inclusion of live events in the game, such as famous celebrity featured concerts as well as crossovers with numerous pop-culture entertainment franchises and gaming series. It is one of the reasons why the game has outstanding popularity to this day in 2022.
The game has received tons of awesome skins that you can equip for your players, including Kratos from God Of War, Jill Valentine from Resident Evil, and the list goes on and on, with legendary celebrities making an appearance, such as Travis Scott and Keanu Reeves as John Wick. Also, with an ever-growing audience regularly watching the game on Twitch, the game is easily a cult-classic third-person title in the Battle Royale genre.
32. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Our Ranking | 6th Best Open-World Game |
Awards | Nominated for the Best Game and Performer in a Video Game at The 15th British Academy Awards |
Release Date | October 5, 2018 |
Developer And Publisher | Ubisoft |
Gameplay Type | Open-World Adventure RPG |
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was the 2nd game to be released under the new RPG Trilogy. It was the follow-up title to AC origins and focused on the Greek Mythical era. The game received a next-gen patch a few months back, and it looks better than ever thanks to the power of the PS5, making it a must-play for Third-Person RPG fans.
Players have the option to choose between either Kassandra or Alexios, who will both appear in the story regardless of choice and make it interesting in different ways. There are various ways to customize your character in this game and make them overpowered. Simply combining the Best Weapons of AC Odyssey along with the Best Abilities will help you craft some of the Best Builds to use in the game.
The map is huge and littered with activities to do, such as taking down all of the mercenaries and hunting down the Best Armor Sets, which will let you have the most fabulous fashion for your demi-god hero. The only drag might be the pacing, as the game can tend to level-gate you out of several mainline missions, but if you’re a fan of the Best Grinding Games, then you should have no problem farming for levels in AC Odyssey.
There is no end to the number of progression pursuits, such as tackling the Daughters Of Artemis Questline, which culminates you in taking down the Legendary Animals of the game. All in all, if you are looking for one of the Open World Third-person PS5 RPG games, then AC Odyssey is perfect for you.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Is One Step Forward From AC Origins
If you are a player who has played both Origins and even the previous entries of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, then keep in mind that AC Odyssey is a title that fully embraces the RPG formula to the maximum potential. What we mean by that is Origins feels like a much more streamlined experience from start to finish. There isn’t any need to grind out tons of activities or quests to be able to stand a chance again enemies or bosses.
Thankfully, the game has numerous ways where you can infinitely earn XP, such as completing the bounties available across the cities and other major landmarks. Not to mention there are several refreshing quests that you can partake in to make sure you are min-maxing the level progression bar under your character. As long as you follow our guides mentioned above for the weapons and builds, you will have no problem playing the game.
The Riveting Questline To Discover Your Long Lost Family
The game dials up the quality of its quests to a hundred with the inclusion of your custom character. Both Alexios and Kassandra are fairly charismatic protagonists, and you can shape their personalities in different ways by choosing dialogue options in each scenario. These can have consequences on some of your actions and can surprisingly alter the outcomes of some of the Main Quests, especially with its climactic ending.
While you may dislike hunting down cultists to unravel a larger mystery, the core storytelling of the game is wholesome and sweet to the very end, as by making the right actions, you will reach a point where the family reunion will be pleasurable to witness for someone who invested upwards of 60 or so hours in the game.
31. God Of War 2018
Our Ranking | 3rd Best Action-Adventure Game |
Awards | Won multiple categories including the Game Of The Year award at The Game Awards 2018 |
Release Date | April 20, 2018 |
Developer And Publisher | Santa Monica Studio, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Action-Adventure RPG |
God Of War 2018 was first showcased during E3 2016 and immediately became one of the most highly anticipated games of all time. It blew away all of those expectations on release and would soon be crowned the Game Of The Year by multiple critics and award ceremonies such as the BAFTAs and The Game Awards 2018.
GOW 2018 once again pits the player in the shoes of Kratos, who, since the events of the third game, has progressively changed into a much calmer and more collected human being. He now has a son, Atreus, who joins his Father in a quest to spread his Mother’s ashes at the top of the mountain in the Realm of Jotunheim.
The game also supports a linear Open World format this time around, meaning players can explore parts of Midgard and hunt down collectibles such as Dragon Tears and Treasure Maps.
The storytelling is wonderfully shot in cinematic format and will keep you hooked as you witness the journey of both Father and Son collide and disengage in a few ways. The game is enhanced and backward compatible with the PS5, and this is the perfect time to play it with the soon arrival of GOW Ragnarok later in November of 2022.
The Reinvigoration Of The Series From Past Entries
Santa Monica Studio has proven with GOW 2018 that a legendary title can benefit from a large number of changes made to its style and presentation. The game was crafted with the scope of an Open World in mind, with the action element still being there but in a much more trimmed-down part. It ultimately became the best-selling point, along with its storytelling, as players could freely traverse the realms in any way possible.
As you begin to step out of the beginning areas in the game, you will soon be able to traverse to almost any of the locations of Midgard as well as revisit previous realms too, making it totally different from the past God Of War titles and their linear action adventure.
The Emotional And Gripping Storytelling Between Father And Son
God Of War 2018’s captivating story has you reunite with Kratos after his cliffhanger demise during the final moments of God Of War 3 but this time, you are introduced to his son, Atreus. Kratos has chosen to leave his brutal and chaotic past behind, wanting to shut it off for the sake of his son. But fatal scars don’t heal that easily as he is soon pulled into another fray of back-and-forth clash against the Norse pantheon of Gods.
Witnessing first-hand the change of Kratos and his demeanor will surely confuse hardcore players, but being able to experience the emotional journey of both him and his son will tug your heartstrings to the end.

Awards | No award nominations right now |
Release Date | September 2, 2022 |
Developer And Publisher | Naughty Dog, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Survival-Horror Action-Adventure |
The Last Of Us Part 1 is the newly released remake version of the critically acclaimed original that launched all the way back in 2013 for the PS3. The game became one of the best-selling titles of all time for the console. It would soon be remastered for the PS4, but now, the Remake is the definitive version to experience Joel & Ellie’s journey.
When it comes down to the story, there is no question that it has tugged the heartstrings of fans for years to come, and now newer players can witness it firsthand, thanks to the generation-defining hardware of the PS5. The gameplay remains the same, but if you’re someone playing it for the first time, then we highly recommend checking out our Combat Tips for TLOU Part 1 to get up to speed on the gameplay.
Players can take down the infected and humanoid foes with different artillery, which they can learn more about in our Weapons Tier List of TLOU Part 1, along with their best Best Weapon Upgrades to increase their capabilities. Throughout the chapters, you will also come across various collectibles such as the Firefly Pendants and Comics for Ellie, so keep your eyes peeled for them to achieve the Platinum Trophy with ease.
The new photorealistic graphics are just so jaw-dropping that you will be amazed by how Naughty Dog gave it the best makeover ever yet. You can learn more about it in our Review of TLOU Part 1 to see if it is worth jumping back into the BEST Third Person PS5 games, rebuilt for the modern era.
The Legendary Tale Re-Built From The Ground-Up For The PS5
There isn’t a single moment in the game where you will feel like it hasn’t been enhanced or touched on because The Last Of Us Part 1 proves why it is one of the best-looking remakes in the industry right now. Most of the assets and textures have been redefined to support a much more photorealistic look to everything.
The emotional storytelling of the game remains untouched but is staggeringly more eye-catchy to witness, thanks to the new character models and updated visuals. Most importantly, while there are quite a few players who will call it a cash-grab, make no mistake that there are enough changes in here to satisfy the hardcore fans.
Tons Of Helpful And Game-Changing Accessibility Features
The main noteworthy element for the Last Of Us Part 1 and introduced with the remake, is that Naughty Dog offers an insane amount of accessibility features for its player base. These range from helping audio cues to help deaf players overcome their chronic disabilities to being able to tweak gameplay aspects to your liking anytime. These are greatly appreciated by almost any player and were vastly applauded by multiple critics in the industry.
Furthermore, there are even options to customize the difficulty in any shape you see fit while also adjusting smaller-scale functions like being able to skip puzzles can be quite alleviating for gamers.
29. The Last Of Us Part 2
Our Ranking | 20th Best Adventure Games Of All Time |
Awards | It was nominated for 24 awards at the National Academy of Video Game Trade Reviewers Awards, record-breaking in the show’s long-term history. |
Release Date | June 19, 2020 |
Developer And Publisher | Naughty Dog, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Survival-Horror Action-Adventure |
The Last Of Us Part 2 is the direct sequel to the first game, which aims to expand on Ellie’s storytelling and introduce a brand new character to the fray, Abby, to spice up the gameplay format. Naughty Dog released the backward Compatible update a while back for it on the PS4, making it smooth and silk to play in locked 60FPS.
The gameplay and combat are modified more than ever compared to the original game. Ellie and Abby both have over-arching storylines that blend into each other sooner or later into the playthrough. Each of the Chapters in the game is largely expanded to have more verticality in their level design and action sequences. You will even be able to explore the sandbox-like city of Seattle during the opening hours of the game with Dina.
The game is grittier than ever, and the narrative can be a hit or miss with everyone, even as of now, but there is no denying that it has the best Third-person combat for any on the PS5. You can learn how to adapt to the nimbleness and agility of Ellie and the power of Abby through our Combat Tips for TLOU Part 2. If you haven’t, we highly encourage you to give the game a chance just to experience its amazing graphics and gameplay.
The Game’s Controversial Yet Thought-Provoking Storytelling
The famous saying how “Revenge is a Fool’s Game” is often used in multiple entertainment mediums to describe the endless cycle of bloodshed and gruesome backstabbing storytelling. While there is no denying that the key storytelling of The Last Of Us Part 2 divided most of its fanbase, it can be easily said that the game will often be remembered for that aspect alone by numerous players.
While many players wouldn’t have liked playing as Abby, it is not simple enough to avoid the recurring idea of the game and the message that it sends to the player base. It demonstrates how the simple thought of revenge can self-destruct someone from the inside and alter their personality. Naughty Dog may have received mixed debate on the writing of the game, but it is definitely one that can never be forgotten for a long time.
Revamped Gameplay, Mechanics, And Larger Levels To Explore
When it comes down to the nitty-gritty of the gameplay and combat in the game, it has been greatly improved upon as Ellie is nimble enough to traverse through the narrowest of openings during fights and is able to jump and swim around freely in some sections. But on top of everything else, the level design of TLOU Part 2 is much larger in verticality, and it opens up new ways for players to explore using both Ellie and Abby.
28. Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is a third-person action-adventure game that takes place in the legendary universe of Star Wars and lets players experience the story firsthand of Cal Kesitis, a Jedi Padawan on the run from the Sith. The game is believed to be taken place right after the Third Movie, Revenge of the Sith, but not to worry, as newcomers and casuals can easily jump into the game without having any prior knowledge of the franchise.
Take Control Of The Force
The game takes players across numerous iconic planets of the Star Wars media that hardcore fans will love but, most importantly, surprise new players. The game is easily recognizable mostly due to its Metroidvania level design and the Souls-like combat with the added twist of Lightsabers and Jedi Force Powers. Not to mention there is a wide variety of Jedi prowess displayed from Cal when it comes to his force powers.
Upgrade Your Skills And Explore Ancient Locations
Players are able to upgrade these Force powers of Cal and strengthen them using skill points granted by leveling them up. Furthermore, you will also have your trusty droid, BD1, accompanying you along for your adventures which will no doubt help you in various situations. You will constantly be revisiting certain levels to unlock hidden secrets and pathways that weren’t accessible previously.
So if you’re someone who adores Souls-like combat games or is looking for one of the Best Adventure Games, then Jedi Fallen Order is one such that you shouldn’t miss out on playing on your PS5. Don’t let the genre name turn you away from the game since it wholeheartedly welcomes gamers of all caliber and skills.

Days Gone is a Third-person Open World survival game that takes place in the post-apocalyptic times of Oregon, where a virus has run rampant across the state, creating infected zombies that have destroyed civilization. You play as Deacon Saint John, an ex-biker on the hunt for his Wife, Sarah.

Exploring and traversing the countryside world on Deacon’s bike is so satisfying. 26. Resident Evil 2
Our Ranking | The 3rd Best Resident Evil Games |
Awards | Won The category for the Best Audio And Ultimate Game Of The Year at the 2019 Golden Joystick Awards |
Release Date | January 25, 2019 |
Developer And Publisher | Capcom |
Gameplay Type | Third-Person Survival Horror |
Resident Evil 2 is critically acclaimed as one of the best modern survival horror titles and arguably one of the greatest remakes of a cult-classic title. The game was the 2nd remake project of Capcom’s initial line-up of the Resident Evil franchise, and it received numerous awards that year after release. So much so that it became one of the highest-rated games of 2019, which later received a PS5 update to boost its performance.
The Two Protagonists of the game
The game offers two playable protagonists, the fan-favorite Leon S Kennedy and Claire Redfield, who both have largely distinctive campaigns and who both offer unique weapons to some extent. The RE2 Remake was made so popular that in today’s era, you would soon see the trend rise of remakes of beloved video games. Most games have opted for remakes and remaster that only offer enhanced visuals or details with minor gameplay changes.
Resident Evil 2 Remake Maintains The Original’s Spirit
However, Resident Evil 2 Remake is perfection as a remake because not only does it entirely change the philosophy and mechanics but also maintains the charm of the original, which is the limited movement and tension of the survival horror elements. Capcom has done an ingenious thing with RE2 in order that retains the specialty of the franchise by making it so that every shot from your weapon should count since ammo is limited.
25. Resident Evil 4
Our Ranking | The #1 Of The Best Resident Evil Games |
Awards | It won the Game Of The Year award at the 2005 Spike Video Game Awards |
Release Date | January 11, 2005 |
Developer And Publisher | Capcom |
Gameplay Type | Third-person Survival-Horror |
Resident Evil 4 is one of the greatest entries of the long-running RE Franchise. It features the perfect blend of Survival Horror and Action that easily resonates with fans of all levels, both casual and hardcore. The game puts in the shoes of the series veteran protagonist, Leon S Kennedy, who is on a mission to rescue the US President’s daughter, who has been kidnapped by an evil cult at a remote location.
The Influence Of The Over-The-Shoulder Camera In RE4
The game is a modern classic because the mechanics and gameplay in it have aged like fine wine over the course of the past decade or so since its original release. For its time, RE4 was one of the few games that incorporated the over-the-shoulder camera style, which made it a revolutionary title for Capcom. It allowed for future games to follow the same style, making the camera style famous to a certain degree.
The Gameplay And Progression
The entire progression is pretty linear, but it offers one of the best pacings in the RE series. One of the most memorable boss fights includes Verdugo and El Gigante, both of which have their own gimmicky fights. Leon has access to a variety of weapons at his disposal to take down cultists and villagers, such as the iconic RED-9, not to mention you will need to manage your inventory from time to time too.
Protecting Ashley during the main sections can become bothersome, but it shouldn’t be much trouble since stunning most villagers and duplexing them is uber-satisfying. The Remake of the game is set to launch next year, and what better time than now to experience the Best Third-Person PS5 games than with Resident Evil 4?
24. Dark Souls 3
Our Ranking | 10th Best Adventure Games Of All Time |
Awards | Won The Ultimate Game Of The Year at the 2016 Golden Stick Awards |
Release Date | April 12, 2016 |
Developer And Publisher | FromSoftware, Bandai Namco Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Action-Adventure RPG |
Dark Souls 3 was marked as the penultimate entry in the trilogy of the original Dark Souls Franchise. It was critically acclaimed and adored by the entire fanbase for its massive improvements made over the previous entry and how it served a loose connection with the events of the first game.
The Ambience And Bosses Of The Game
The game just had a better atmosphere and design philosophy which was all strikingly topped with two amazing DLCs known as the Ashes Of Ariandel and The Ringed City. The game, including its expansions, would have some of the greatest boss fights in Video Game history, such as Pontiff Sulyvhan, Nameless King, Soul Of Cinder, Slave Knight Gael, and Darkeater Midir, who all made the game memorable with their challenge and brutality.
The Impact Of Dark Souls 3 On The Industry
Additionally, so many other factors went into the game that made it win multiple Game Of The Year awards, such as the jaw-dropping OST created by the renowned Yuka Kitamura and, Of course, the entire game’s direction was led by the legendary Hidetaka Miyazaki who vowed to send the series off with an ending that it deserved.
Dark Souls 3 is one of my Personal Favorite Souls Borne games due to the solar reason of it having a fantastic level design format compared to previous titles but most importantly, it is the perfect entryway game for newcomers who, if given it enough time and patience, will no doubt love every second of it.
23. Grand Theft Auto 5
Our Ranking | The 35th Best Open World Game |
Awards | Won the Game Of The Year at The Golden Joystick Awards 2013 |
Release Date | September 17, 2013 |
Developer And Publisher | Rockstar North, Rockstar Games |
Gameplay Type | Third-Person, Open-World |
Rockstar is one of the most talented studios in the entire world, which is easily seen through the number of sales made by their magnum opus, Grand Theft Auto 5. The game is indefinitely the best-selling video game on the market, amassing upwards of a billion dollars and still crossing that mark each day since its original release. It received a PS5 port not too long ago, which enhances and boosts its graphical fidelity and framerate.
GTA 5 Is The First Title In The Series To Feature Three Protagonists
It is the first GTA game to incorporate three different protagonists that you can play as; Michael, Trevor, and Franklin, who each have their own special ability and, of course, different personalities. The storyline is much more upbeat in comparison to past entries, with all three protagonist storylines converging in various ways.
However, the most noteworthy aspect of all GTA games is obviously the massive sandbox world, and in that element, the developers have spared no effort in perfecting every bit of it. Most importantly, it has given rise to the Multiplayer mode, GTA Online, which even received its own standalone version for next-gen consoles.
The Game Looks Amazing On The PS5
Los Santos looked more detailed and beautiful than ever since its original release all the way back in 2013. It is truly a generation-defining game, one that has eagerly anticipated the world when GTA 6 is released in the future. Aside from that, we highly recommend revisiting the game on your PS5 since it is easily one of the best Third-person Sandbox games to play, even in 2022.
22. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Our Ranking | The 6th Best Open World Game |
Awards | Won the awards for the categories in Best Action, Adventure, and Best Soundtrack at The Game Awards 2015. |
Release Date | September 1, 2015 |
Developer And Publisher | Kojima Productions, Konami |
Gameplay Type | Open-World Stealth Adventure |
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain served as the final entry in the MGS Franchise as its legendary creator, Hideo Kojima, soon departed from Konami after the release of the game. The game is still endeared by fans to this day as being the best Third-person PS5 game with an excellent sandbox world and stealth action.
The Legacy Of The Metal Gear Solid Series
The entire MGS series had been widely known for its tactical stealth gameplay, which ultimately put the franchise on the map, not to mention it had one of the most thought-provoking and mesmerizing storytelling in all of Video Games. MGS V is mostly known for being one of the only games in the series that primarily focused on letting players have the creative freedom to roam the Open World and complete missions as they saw fit.
The Unparalleled Gameplay And Sandbox Exploration
It will actively encourage players to come up with strategies to take down enemy encampments and bases, resulting in either stealth or guns-blazing. But it is here where the magic of Kojima and his team will come into effect as enemies and soldiers will soon become aware of your actions, so the next time you tackle the same base or revisit it, they will provide countermeasures to your previously used tactics.
Venom Snake has various different options available to him to complete missions which will more than happily entice players to go about their own way to progress through the main campaign. The game looks and runs great, thanks to the raw power of the PS5, so we highly recommend checking it out as it is simply of the Best Third-person PS5 games.

Devil May Cry 5 is the 5th entry in the long-running DMC Franchise, which is notorious for being one of the most stellar action game series in the market. It relies on the player dealing epic and stylish combos in quick succession to main the style meter while performing everything with little to no error at all.
The Differences With The Special Edition
The game introduces you to returning heroes such as Dante and Nero, but most importantly, with the Special Edition, you get access to the Dark Knight Mode and more graphical options too. The former is essentially a game mode that will spawn an enormous amount of enemies for you to take down effortlessly with ease.
But also, after long fan demand, Capcom also added Vergil, Dante’s twin brother, who is one of the most beloved characters in the DMC series. Vergil has access to a plethora of awesome combos that will make you stay on the edge of your seat as you pour down the raging storm on your enemies.
The Ultra-Stylish Gameplay Of Devil May Cry 5
The game offers a dynamic combat system that will push players to strive to achieve the SSS rating throughout each of the missions. Once you complete your first playthrough on the Devil Hunter mode, you can then opt to begin your true journey of the game via the Son Of Sparda and Dante Must Die difficulty modes, both of which are considered the traditional methods to enjoy and beat the game by hardcore fans.
Furthermore, the game is heavily optimized for the PS5, supporting 120FPS and even dedicated Ray-tracing modes to achieve the best graphics quality in it. This, personally, is a waste because you will mostly be on the adrenaline rush of dishing out your slick combos as you play DMC 5, one of the best third-person PS5 games out there that have the greatest action gameplay to offer.
20. Sekiro Shadows Die Twice
Our Ranking | The 2nd Best Souls Borne Game |
Awards | It won the Game Of The Year at The Game Awards 2019 |
Release Date | March 22, 2019 |
Developer And Publisher | FromSoftware, Activision |
Gameplay Type | Action-Adventure |
Out of most Souls Borne Games in the franchise by Fromsoftware, Sekiro Shadows Die Twice remains to be one of the most uniquely crafted titles in their catalog, mostly due to its superb and incredible combat design. The game relies on a constant back-and-forth rhythmic clash that results in draining your opponent’s posture meter. So constantly timing your deflections and parries will be the key to winning every battle.
The Storytelling And World Of The Game
You play as the Shinobi Wolf, who is tasked with protecting the divine heir, but after failing your mission, you are soon injured and forced to travel the lands in order to regain your young master’s presence and, most importantly, to sever the ties of immortality while fighting against fearsome foes and beasts. During the course of your adventure, you will come across many ancient and supernatural landscapes in the world.
The game has a total of four different endings that you can pursue, one of which is the Shura Ending, which is essentially the evil ending that you can claim through the midway points of the game.
It Became The Best Action-Adventure Game In 2019
Sekiro offers much more verticality in comparison to previous Fromsoft entries, as you have access to a brilliant grappling hook that lets you travel with ease throughout the complex and intricately designed levels with varied enemy designs. These enemies will push you to the edge in order to defeat them with precise calculations.
Sekiro was the Game Of The Year winner at the Game Awards 2019, and even now, in 2022, it is still regarded as the best Third-person action game on the PS5, which will encourage and test players’ endurance. So with the proper learning curve, we are sure anyone can master the basics of Sekiro with ease.
19. Remnant From The Ashes
Our Ranking | 6th Best Looter Shooter Games |
Awards | The latest expansion of the game, Subject 2923, has received numerous accolades such as The Best Video Game DLCs in 2020 by Gamerant |
Release Date | August 20, 2019 |
Developer And Publisher | Gunfire Games, Perfect World Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Third-person Survival Looter Shooter |
One of the more prominent games I believe end up getting missed by several players is, without a doubt, Remnant from the Ashes, which incorporates a Third-person RPG shooter combat with a few soul-like elements. Above all else, the game is excellent if you love the progression of Looter shooters with challenging aspects.
The Gritty Setting Of The Game
The primary setting of the game takes place during the post-apocalyptic times where an evil corruption known as The Root has taken over mankind and civilization, and now it is up to us, an unknown roaming venturer to investigate the source of it all and work our way to the very end and eliminate it. The game features a plethora of worlds for you to explore, with different enemies and bosses inhabiting it for awesome loot.
Remant From The Ashes Is More Fun With Friends
Most importantly, the game supports cooperative multiplayer, so you can play through the entire campaign and explore various worlds of the game with your friends. There are tons of challenging bouts that will test your teamwork. If dead, you will have to restart from the checkpoint. Luckily that shouldn’t be an issue, as you will constantly run into opportunities to upgrade your gear score and become powerful enough to fight back.
18. Stray
Our Ranking | The 18th Best Adventure Game of all time |
Awards | No award nominations right now |
Release Date | July 19, 2022 |
Developer And Publisher | Bluetwelve Studio, Annapurna Interactive |
Gameplay Type | Puzzle, Adventure |
Stray is the cat-sim adventure game that gamers have waited for a long time to play ever since its initial reveal. Now that the game had finally been released, it fulfilled all of the expectations by providing a subtle yet beautiful linear World where you had to escape back to the outside and combat an ever-growing parasite threat to save androids.
The Intuitive Premise Of The Game
There are a lot of Games Like Stray out there, from indies to comforting Visual Novels, but the game itself isn’t something that anyone, especially cat lovers, should miss. You will need to carefully navigate throughout each section of the game along with B-12 to investigate the last-living kind of androids and their looming threat. You will meet several important characters, such as Clementine, who will guide our cat to save their civilization.
The Rollercoaster, High-Stakes Adventure Of The Cat
Most importantly, the game isn’t too long either, as you can easily complete it in less than 10 hours, but I would personally recommend going for the Platinum Trophy too. It isn’t too hard to achieve as long as you grab all of the hidden collectibles, such as the Music Sheets and the B-12 Memories, to wrap it up in less than two playthroughs, along with any interactable-based trophies.
Throughout the game, the cat will also need to complete fetch tasks for various NPCs to progress past with ease, such as Finding the Worker Hat & Jacket or the Poncho for Elliot in the slums chapter. If you want to learn more about why it’s considered the best Third-Person PS5 game, then we highly recommend reading our Review of Stray.
17. Ghost Of Tsushima: Director’s Cut
Our Ranking | The 5th Best Playstation Exclusive game of all time |
Awards | It was nominated for multiple awards at the 2020 Golden Joystick Awards and won the Best Art Direction category at The Game Awards 2020 |
Release Date | July 17, 2020 |
Developer And Publisher | Sucker Punch Productions, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Open-World Action-Adventure |
Sucker Punch Studios first unveiled Ghost Of Tsushima at E3 2018 and immediately grabbed the attention of gamers around the world for its jaw-dropping visuals and slick gameplay. The game takes place in the feudal times of Japan on Tsushima Island, where you must fend off the Mongolian invasion led by Khotun Khan.
The Code Of The Samurai Or The Mask Of The Ghost
Players take control of Jin Sakai, a samurai who narrowly avoids defeat at the hands of the Mongols and is now left stranded to recuperate. He soon decides that he will need to break his code of honor and adopt new ways to eliminate the brutal Mongols and save the civilization of his Island. Throughout his quest, Jin must also choose between the honorable way of the Samurai or facing the sins of the Ghost and shattering his trust with his uncle.
The World of Ghost Of Tsushima Is Absolutely Breathtaking
The Island of Tsushima is vast and lush, with an insanely gorgeous art style. Players will spend hours taking on quests and even completing side activities such as locating the Fox Shrines, helping the villagers, and even taking down enemy encampments, all done by your choice via Jin’s Ghost and Samurai fighting styles.
The Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut offers enhanced visuals and framerate to enjoy the game at the highest quality possible. It offers the Iki island Expansion, which is a whole new map that will provide new activities, a new story, and new fauna for Jin to interact with, which will adore players. If you have friends or are generally interested, you can jump into the Legends Multiplayer expansion, which has its elements and modes.
16. Witcher 3 The Wild Hunt
Our Ranking | 3rd Best Open World Game Of All Time |
Awards | Won multiple awards at the 19th Annual D.I.C.E Awards, including the Game Of The Year at The Game Awards 2015 |
Release Date | May 19, 2015 |
Developer And Publisher | CD Projekt Red |
Gameplay Type | Open-World RPG |
The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is easily one of the greatest Third-Person RPG games, which have aged like fine wine to play on the PS5 seamlessly. The game has two amazing expansions released ever since its release, known as the Hearts of Stone and The Blood and Wine DLCs, both of which flesh out the universe and lore heavily in TW3.
Geralt Is Back With More Badass Skills And Sorcery
Players reprise the role of Geralt Of Rivia as he must now locate and find Ciri and Yennefer, as well as overcome the looming threat of the King Of The Wild Hunt, Eredin, and his forces from conquering the lands. Veteran players can choose to start this journey via the Death March Difficulty, which will test their odds of survival.
Geralt can be customized heavily with hairstyles and armor, but most importantly, you will need the most powerful gear to take down creatures of the night, such as the Best Steelswords found in the game. Not to mention you will also have access to use the Best Runewords if alchemy is your preferred playstyle.
The Bustling World And Map Of The Witcher 3
Perhaps the most well-known trait of TW3 is its bustling Open World which is full of question mark indicators that will make you complete every single thing aside from the main story. Who knows? You might just love its brilliantly designed card-based mini-game, Gwent, which is addictive if given the proper time and attention. Aside from that, try to be opportunistic whenever possible and tackle every activity in the game.
15. Control Ultimate Edition
Our Ranking | The 14th Best Adventure Game of all time |
Awards | Won The Critic’s Choice award at the 2019 Golden Joystick Awards |
Release Date | August 27, 2019 |
Developer And Publisher | Remedy Entertainment, 505 Games |
Gameplay Type | Third-Person Action-Adventure |
Control is a Third Person game that focuses on high-octane action and has a bizarre yet rich universe that seamlessly connects with Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake, another excellent game in their catalog. The game has a hit-or-miss reception due to its bizarre and trippy tonality in the storytelling aspect.
The Unorthodox Storytelling Of Control
It is something that I personally adore due to the sheer complexity of trying to solve the mysteries of the Federal Bureau of Control (The FBC) is full of thought-provoking twists and turns. Jesse Faden, our protagonist, will constantly unravel new and eerie happenings whilst she tries to find her brother, Dylan, in the building. You may get turned off by the lack of logic behind certain plot points but trust us when we say to stick with it to the end.
The Gameplay And Ultimate Edition Content
Speaking of which, the level design of Control is something that will have you revisit and learn the layout of the FBC building, which is humongous, one that players may find overwhelming to navigate with ease. Jesse is able to learn lots of different abilities throughout her time in the game, including the ability to launch objects and projectiles at her enemies, as well as being able to manipulate gravity and levitate.
The Foundation and AWE expansions further expand and branch the story after the main campaign. They are both included in the Ultimate edition, which is the only version for PS5 users. The combat is very much the key selling point of the game, which is why we would highly recommend it to almost anyone a fan of the genre.
14. Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy
Our Ranking | The 11th Best Adventure Game of all time |
Awards | Won the Best Narrative Category at The Game Awards 2021 |
Release Date | October 25, 2021 |
Developer And Publisher | Eidos Montreal, Square Enix |
Gameplay Type | Action-Adventure |
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy was developed by Eidos Montreal, who were the same creators behind the critically acclaimed Deus Ex series. The game used the same combat engine from the recent Avengers game, but most importantly, it was adored by every player due to its amazingly written story and the cast of characters.
Completely Different And Better Than The MCU Version
The game won the award for Best Written Game at the Game Awards 2021. What GOTG’21 does differently than other adaptations of the iconic group of characters, such as the MCU movies, is that it introduces the audience to a pre-established version of the Guardians gang. The exact timeline of the game fits well as you are introduced to legendary characters of the Marvel Comics Book franchise, such as Adam Warlock.
You mainly control Starlord Peter Quill, who is the leader of the Guardians of The Galaxy. The gameplay is action and command-based as players can direct the gang of Rocket, Gamora, Drax, and Groot to dish out different abilities that can greatly change the tides of battle. They can all be customized with various outfits, some of which are taken straight from the comics.
The Guardians Are Enthusiastic And Full Of High-Octane Charisma
The charm and wittiness of each character, plus the wholesome interactions or banter between each of them, make the entire experience unforgettable. Each of the characters will also go through emotional story arcs of their own in between the chapters, which will show their solidarity and commitment to each other as a group of mischievous but caring best friends. The game is available to play for free via the Extra Tier on PlayStation Plus.
13. Yakuza Like A Dragon
Our Ranking | The 5th Best Turn-Based JRPG Game |
Awards | It was nominated for the Ultimate Game Of The Year Award At The Golden Joystick Awards 2020 |
Release Date | January 16, 2020 |
Developer And Publisher | Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, SEGA |
Gameplay Type | Open-World, Turn-based JRPG |
Yakuza Like A Dragon was a turning point for the series, especially for RGG, who were looking to reinvent the combat and freshen the gameplay. Hence why they took a major risk by opting to make the game a Turn-based JRPG instead of the traditional brawler the series is known for, which thankfully was positively received.
The Significance Of The New Hero, Ichiban Kasuga
The game introduced a brand new main protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, who became a fan favorite instantly after the departure of the legendary hero, Kiryu Kazuma. He is quite different in contrast to Kiryu in that he is much more enthusiastic and childlike in his demeanor and personality. With his unlikely group of friends, Ichiban must rise from rock bottom to unravel the Yakuza’s dark and ever-growing mysteries.
The Risky Change From Brawler Into Turn-Based Was Much-Needed
The gameplay mainly revolves around players being able to explore the cities of Injincho in Yokohama, which is a brand new map of the series, as well as Kamurucho, the most well-known returning city of the franchise. Both of these locations are filled with activities to immerse yourself in as well as dungeons to grind with your party.
The game has an excellent Job system that lets you customize the classes of your party members, from the Bodyguard to the Dancer and many more! From Dragon Kart to Karaoke, the side activities are endless, and the world is your oyster to explore with Yakuza Like A Dragon, which runs beautifully on the PS5.
12. Lost Judgment
Our Ranking | The Greatest Detective-Action game of all time |
Awards | The game was nominated for the Best Direction category at the 2022 NAVGTR Awards |
Release Date | September 24, 2021 |
Developer And Publisher | Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, SEGA |
Gameplay Type | Open-World Detective-Thriller |
Lost Judgment is a crime thriller detective game which is created by the developers of the Yakuza series, RGG Studios, but this game, along with the original Judgment, serves as the spin-off game to the Yakuza franchise. Both of the Judgment titles have a different universe and a much darker and more serious narrative.
Lost Judgment Is Packed With Tons Of Fun Activities
Although, of course, there are still gameplay and exploration exceptions in it, so with LJ, they managed to make it the same scope as Yakuza Like A Dragon, but with more activities than ever, such as being able to participate in various High School Drama events, skateboarding and much more! When you’re not out tackling the main cases, be sure to participate and complete the side cases for hilarious and intriguing side adventures of Yagami.
The Rich But Dark Storytelling And Narrative Of The Game
Players once again reprise the role of Detective Takayuki Yagami, who is caught in a case where he must investigate a sexual harassment case. However, players will soon learn it is much more than what meets the eye, as the storytelling will make you question the moral ambiguities that lie in the dark secrets of bullying & suicide. But at the very least, it happens to give way to one of the best-written villains in the entire RGG franchise.
Both of the Judgment games run excellently on the PS5, and most of the time, they go unnoticed by many gamers due to their niche quality. But we assure you if, given the proper chance and attention, The Judgment games are amazing and perfect for anyone looking for an awesome crime detective beat-em-up game.
11. Red Dead Redemption 2
Our Ranking | The 2nd Best Open-World Game |
Awards | The Lead actor for the protagonist, Roger Clark received the Award for Best Performance at The Game Awards 2018 |
Release Date | October 26, 2018 |
Developer And Publisher | Rockstar Studios, Rockstar Games |
Gameplay Type | Open-World Action-Adventure |
Red Dead Redemption 2 became one of the most sought-after games from Rockstar after their initial announcement of it back in 2016. The game was soon released worldwide; a PC release followed shortly after it. Most importantly, though, with such a high attention-to-detail and masterful storytelling, RDR2 would easily become a technical achievement for the company, becoming the greatest Open World game at the time.
The Infamous Story Of Arthur Morgan And The Van Der Linde Gang
The game is a sequel to the original Red Dead, but the plot takes place before the events of the former. You play Arthur Morgan, who is a central figure of Dutch Van Der Linde’s gang, which also has John Marston, our hero from the first game. RDR2 tells the tale of this gang that slowly crumbles as tensions begin to rise, and witnessing it all through Arthur’s perspective ends up delivering one of the most emotional stories in all of gaming.
The Blooming World Of The Wild West
The world of the Wild West in RDR2 is brimming to the top with activities and hustling to do. You can outfit Arthur with some amazing guns and outfits, but first, you will need to Farm Money in Red Dead Redemption 2. Thankfully that isn’t an issue, as you can raid Gang Hideouts and discover Treasure Maps which will help you easily become rich in the game.
The graphics quality and the rich diversity in the visuals of the game are all dense that you cannot help but appreciate the excellence in Rockstar’s craftsmanship. There is no better way to experience a generation-defining video game than with Red Dead Redemption 2.
10. Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
Our Ranking | The 8th Best Open-World Game |
Awards | It was nominated for the Best Artistic and Audio Achievement as well as the Best Narrative game at The 2019 British Academy awards |
Release Date | November 12, 2020 |
Developer And Publisher | Insomniac Games, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Open-World Beat-Em Up |
The only worthy recipients of an amazing Superhero game was the Batman Arkham series, but that title would soon have a rival withSpider-Man 2018. The game became a fan-favorite exclusive on the PS4 and would soon get remastered for the PS5 with boosted framerates and enhanced visuals, as well as receive a PC port too.
Spider-Man Swings His Way Over To The PC Platform
Insomniac Games has had a remarkable reputation with its catalog for PlayStation. They had been vividly known for their role in developing the new Ratchet and Clank games. But this new rendition of Spider-Man proved to be one of the best Third-Person Open World adventure games on the market. There is such riveting storytelling here that will keep players glued to the screen and an absolutely robust combat design.
We had a chance to Review Spider-Man Remastered On PC, and without a doubt, the game is stellar in design and storytelling every step of the way. The web swinging feels fluid and snappy; as you zip across the streets of NYC, you can come across various activities and collectibles to hunt down. Completing these activities alongside the main campaign is essential if you want to upgrade Peter’s Spider abilities and other cool gadgetry.
The Game Features Almost Every Iconic Villain
The story will introduce players to several iconic villains from the Spider-Man universe, as well as other characters such as Black Cat and Silver Sable. The game’s main tagline is ‘Be Greater,’ and we can confirm that it lives up to it perfectly because the first playthrough of this game is easily an unforgettable experience for most players. Thus crowning it as the Best Third-Person Games PS5.
9. Spider-Man Miles Morales
Our Ranking | 9th Best Open-World Game |
Awards | Nominated for numerous categories at the 2021 British Academy Awards, including Best Animation, Game, and Narrative |
Release Date | November 12, 2020 |
Developer And Publisher | Insomniac Games, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Open-World, Beat-em Up |
Speaking of which, it only seemed fair to include another amazing title in the same universe and by the same creators, Spider-Man Miles Morales. The game is a spin-off title to the main Spider-man game and features Miles Morales as the main protagonist this time around as he must defend NYC in the absence of Peter Parker.
The Uprising Story Of Mile Morales
The gameplay is generally the same as the main game in the series, with the exception that Miles has access to abilities in comparison to the original spidey. He is able to camouflage himself and even has powerful skills such as the Venom Strike, which can stun and brutalize most of his opponents with ease. The main campaign is relatively short, spanning up to a total of 15-20 hours to get the platinum via two playthroughs.
How It Differs From Spider-Man 2018
Just like the original Spider-Man Game, Miles Morales has plentiful side content to keep you immersed, such as being able to take down Gang Hideouts and grab every collectible in the world to upgrade Miles’ suits and skills. Swinging through the City as Miles feels like a whole different experience, one that many fans will adore.
Furthermore, the game supports three drastically different Graphical Options on the PS5. The game offers a 30FPS mode with 4K resolution and Ray-tracing, or you can choose to go with the “RT Performance” mode, which lets you maintain a locked 60FPS with ray-tracing capabilities to enhance the fidelity and world of the game. If you plan on playing the sequel on the PS5 in 2023, then Miles Morales is one game that shouldn’t be missed.
8. Ratchet And Clank Rift Apart
Our Ranking | The 17th Best Adventure Games Of all time |
Awards | Won the categories for Best Animation and Technical Achievement at the 2022 British Academy Awards |
Release Date | June 11, 2021 |
Developer And Publisher | Insomniac Games, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Platformer, Action-Adventure |
Ratchet And Clank Rift Apart were one of the earliest titles released for the PS5 shortly a few months after the launch of the console. The game is infamously known to take full advantage of the PS5’s built-in SSD with the Rift mechanics, which seamlessly connects different levels of the game in a split-second pacing.
The Cross-Dimensional Narrative Of Rift Apart
You once again play as the quick-witted Ratchet and his robot buddy and sidekick, Clank, who are both thrown into an inter-dimensional crash course, leading them to battle a new impending evil as well as meet new faces. Among these new characters is Rivet, another lombax like Ratchet who fights to save her universe alongside him. Together you will eventually team up in order to prevent the order of interdimensional integrity from collapsing.
The Addictive Gameplay And Combat Is Bigger Than Ever
Players will battle through various different dimensions using the weaponry of these characters to aid them in defeating the menacing foes and combatants. You can upgrade these weapons by different means using bolts and scrap that you find throughout the campaign. Visually, the game is a treat because not only does the Rift technology seem innovative, but the Graphics being so photorealistic is pure jaw-dropping to witness.
The game is a short but sweet experience that is brimming with wholesomeness and a heroic adventure that will make you appreciate the effort and creativity done by Insomniac Games. Personally, it is one of my favorite Third-person platformer action games, which is chock-full of breathtaking beauty and unadulterated joy.
7. Horizon Forbidden West
Our Ranking | 14th Best Open World Game |
Awards | It was awarded the Most Anticipated game at The Game Awards 2021 |
Release Date | February 18, 2022 |
Developer And Publisher | Guerrilla Games, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Open-World RPG |
Horizon Forbidden West is the sequel to Zero dawn, which was launched all the way back in 2017. The game takes players to a brand new location where our heroine, Aloy, and her friends must prepare themselves to face an ever-growing evil and prevent it from destroying the last generation of mankind and their civilization.
Journey Into The Treacherous Lands Of The Forbidden West
The perilous lands of the Forbidden West are known to new machines, so you will need to think twice before taking on fearsome foes such as the Spineslaughter or even returning ones such as the deadly Stalkers. You will need to equip Aloy with the Best Weapons and Armor to have a fighting chance against the new enemies. Among the artillery, such as the Best Bows in the game, including secret weapons such as the Regalla’s Wrath Bow.
There Is Much More Emphasis On Exploration
However, exploration is the key focus here once again by Guerrilla Games, as they mainly wanted to expand the scope after the previous game and drastically improve it. So you will occasionally get sidetracked while collecting the Survey Drones and Black Boxes, which will heavily reward you. Not to mention the Tallnecks and Cauldrons are back, with more complex challenges that you need to overcome in order to complete them with relative ease.
Overall, HFW is a massive improvement over the first game in that the developers aimed to fix Zero Dawn’s mistakes and reinvent them. The game boasts an outstanding depth of Graphical Fidelity, even on the base PS4, making it one of our current generation’s hand-picked and favorite Third-person PS5 games.
6. Uncharted Legacy Of Thieves Collection
Our Ranking | The 5th Best Adventure Games of all time |
Awards | Uncharted 4 Won the award for the Best Game at the 2017 British Academy Awards |
Release Date | January 28, 2022 |
Developer And Publisher | Naughty Dog, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Action-Adventure |
The Uncharted games are easily regarded as the best-selling game on the PS3, and all three of them are remastered for the PS4 too. But our main focus is, of course, Uncharted four and Lost Legacy, two uncharted titles that have remarkable storytelling and visuals, all packaged into one bundle known as the Legacy Of Thieves Collection.
One Last Treasure Hunt For Nathan Drake
In Uncharted 4, you play as the fan-favorite Nathan Drake as he takes on one last job of finding the ancient treasure of Sir Francis Drake alongside his Brother, Sam, and other returning characters such as Sully and his wife, Elena Fisher. The gameplay involves Third Person combat where you can take down armed soldiers and thugs in either stealth or guerrilla-warfare-Esque gunplay.
It culminates into a grueling boss fight along with a perfect happy ending to appease the hardcore fans. You can then opt to jump into Lost Legacy, which is a spin-off title that focuses on Chloe Frazer, a returning character from the previous entries, which is also a must-play if you’re looking for more adventures in the universe.
Greatly Enhanced For The PlayStation 5 Hardware
Both games look beautiful thanks to the power of the PS5, as they offer upgraded visuals and performance, which makes them more fun and exhilarating than ever to play. The only caveat could be the absence of the Multiplayer Mode, which isn’t too bad since the main selling point of these games is, of course, their single-player brilliance.
5. Bloodborne
Our Ranking | 2nd Best Souls Borne Game |
Awards | Winner of numerous awards, including the Best Games category at the 2016 British Academy Awards |
Release Date | March 24, 2015 |
Developer And Publisher | From Software, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Action-Adventure RPG |
Bloodborne is one of the few esteemed titles that lives up to its name of being one of the best Playstation exclusive games of all time. The fact that the PC fanbase is in high spirits every single time for a port of the game on that platform goes to show how much popularity it has gained since its initial release.
The Cosmic Horror Ambience Is Stellar In Bloodborne
Bloodborne is quite different from the Souls series by From Software. The primary setting of the game is based on gothic victorian along with the influence of supernatural and cosmic entities. The lore is very intricate and rich with details in contrast to the medieval fantasy background of the Dark Souls titles.
You play as the Good Hunter, who awakes from a near-death experience in the city of Yharnam. You are now tasked with eliminating beasts, madmen, and other creatures who will stop you from ending the dreaded curse. Players can access a variety of weapons to use, which all have trick properties that allow them to function differently from each other. There are even arcane tools that act as the sorcery and spells of this game.
The Breathtaking Level Inter-connectivity Of The Game
The most popular and well-praised aspect of Bloodborne is easily its inter-connected level design that makes many newcomers jaw-drop at the creativity and craftsmanship put into the game by Hidetaka Miyazaki, whether it’s the realization of appearing back at the first level or entering Castle Cainhurst for the first time.
Bloodborne is a masterpiece that lives fondly in gamer’s hearts, and if you can put aside the framerate issues, and learn its adrenaline-fueled aggressive combat, then it’s an absolute treat for players who are looking for the best Third-Person PS5 games.
4. Death Stranding Director’s Cut
Our Ranking | 4th Best Adventure Games of all time |
Awards | Won the Technical Achievement category at the 2020 British Academy awards |
Release Date | September 24, 2021 |
Developer And Publisher | Kojima Productions, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Action-Adventure |
Hideo Kojima’s creative brilliance is known by most gamers through his Metal Gear Solid series. But after leaving Konami, he created Kojima Productions and sought to release games without any restrictions to stop him. Death Stranding was their first game, and just a year ago, it received the director’s cut remaster version.
Unraveling The Complex Yet Intriguing Narrative
The game is essentially about making deliveries across the post-apocalyptic lands of a ruinous American civilization. It depicts a fictional story about how a cataclysmic entity known as the BTs destroyed the world and the last living elements of humankind. It has forced human beings to take shelter in bunkers and facilities. It is now up to Sam Porter Bridges, our hero of the story, to reunite what’s left in the state to stand together.
The Game Is More Than Just A Walking Simulator
The game is easily a hit-or-miss with most players as most of the gameplay revolves around making deliveries across facilities and bunkers for different NPCs and contracts. At other times, Sam and BB, his Bridge Baby, will also run into the menacing MULEs and the BTs, as mentioned earlier, who will pose an obstacle during your missions, so you will need to take them down using various means such as weaponry and other gadgets.
Personally, Death Stranding provides an unforgettable experience, unlike other games, as the enthralling storytelling alongside the masterful soundtrack grips the hearts of players who stick around with it till the very end of the journey. Once the game grips you in tight, there is no letting go of it since seeing the heartwarming journey of Sam through this desolated world is just so mesmerizing at times towards the endgame.
The Multiplayer system is absolutely worthy of appraisal because of how it lets other players of the world help you on your deliveries using the structures and roads and other interactivity to let you know that you aren’t alone on your treacherous adventures throughout the world.

The Heroic Adventures Of Commander Shepard
All three of the games tell the heroic stories of Commander Shepard and their crew. You have the option to create your own custom Shepard with either female or male gender and customize their starting traits. The true charm of the games lies in the party members and memorable storytelling experience, which distinctively branches out with the 2nd game having one of the most iconic video game endings in history.
As Shepard, you will roam the Galaxy to stop the threat of the Protheons and Sovereign, an ancient race that wants nothing more than to wipe out the universe once again. The lore and world-building of Mass Effect are incredibly rich and packed with different elements that most sci-fi gamers will absolutely love at first sight.
It Allows For A Free-Form Third-Person Shooter Combat
The gameplay is a traditional over-the-shoulder Third-Person shooting with two party members of your choosing accompanying Shepard along their adventures on different planets and space ships. 1. Returnal
Our Ranking | The #1 Best Rogue-like games |
Awards | Won the Best Action Game award at The Game Awards 2021 as well as the Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design and Music at the 25th Annual D.I.C.E Awards |
Release Date | April 30, 2021 |
Developer And Publisher | Housemarque, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Third-Person Shooter, Rogue-like |
Returnal is a Sci-Fi Third-Person shooter title that manages to brilliantly incorporate Rogue-like elements that set it apart from most PlayStation exclusives. It offers exhilarating fast-paced gameplay where you will constantly need to survive against the onslaught of waves of enemies or the challenging boss fights of each level. It ranks at the top of our list because it deserves every bit of appreciation in the list of the Best Third-Person PS5 games.
The Main Storytelling Of Returnal Is Almost Non-Existent
Speaking of which, all of the levels are separated into Biomes which greatly vary in style and presentation from each other. You play as Selene, who finds herself crash-landed on this planet named Atropos, but soon you will learn there is more than what meets the eye as she will find herself getting resurrected after each death, making her life feel like a living Nightmare.
The Rich Gunplay Of The Game Is The Greatest Of All Time
The storytelling is mostly vague and left to self-interpret the player, but obviously, the game’s main selling point is the sublime shooting and gameplay. Selene can choose between a variety of different weapons, which gradually unlock as you progress through the game for the first time. You will also discover new equipment which will let you overcome barriers, such as being able to dive underwater and cross laser traps in the levels.
Furthermore, with the passage of time, the game also received a major free update which provided players with the Tower of Sisyphus, which features a never-ending tower with waves of enemies to battle and a dedicated scoring system that has its own worldwide leaderboard network. The game even has a ‘Suspend Cycle’ functionality which lets you pause your current runs, a feature that was highly requested by many fans.
Overall, Returnal is a game that is definitely worth picking up by any PS5 user. It is loved by both casual and hardcore gamers, and lastly, it even offers Co-op, so you can invite a friend with you during the campaign to help you out or matchmaker with other players, so we highly suggest checking it out if you’re interested in it as it is generally our top pick for the Best Third-person games on the market.
The Wrap-Up
The Third Person camera perspective in Video Games was such a revolutionary design implementation that it further allowed for more creative freedom by developers and studios. It set the foundation for what many titles could later achieve later down the line, with 3D effects and visuals as the cherry on top of them.
It is the most popular choice of camera perspective that is used for a variety of reasons in modern-era games. It allows players to witness the actions and imagery of their main protagonists while still being able to witness the detail and work of the Open World environment or levels. One of the few cult classic titles that became trendsetters for using The Third-Person aspect was the original Tomb Raider and Zelda Ocarina of Time.
As of now, different games will even occasionally let you swap between camera angles, such as is the case with the Halo games and Cyberpunk 2077, which will let players toggle to Third-Person while driving a vehicle. It immerses you in a different way, one that lets you see everything happening on your screen.
We hope you enjoyed reading this comprehensive list of the Best Third-Person PS5 games. These are loved by many gamers around the world, and if you just recently bought a PlayStation 5 console, then they are all a must-play for every fan of the genre.
