Epic Games welcomed Fortnite players worldwide to the game’s annual winter-themed event — Winterfest 2021. This year, Epic has completely outdone themselves. The number of free in-game rewards, quests and gameplay elements makes Winterfest 2021 stand out as one of the top seasonal events we’ve seen in quite some time. However, there’s one truly unique experience that players will stumble upon when dropping onto the Island.
Every significant event needs a mascot and Epic Games went with the Sgt. Winter this time around—a battle-tested Santa Claus. While you can find him in the Cozy Lodge handing presents to all who enter, he also appears on the Chapter 3 Season 1 Island.
Today, ESTNN explains where you can find Sgt. Winter and how to obtain free presents and loot to help you achieve a Victory Royale.
Sgt. Winter’s Truck Route

The map above displays the Sgt. Winter’s known parade path during the Winterfest event. We’ve dropped into several matches and found the NPC following this route several times. Upon replay mode inspection, it seems Sgt. Winter starts just south of Sleepy Sound before proceeding through Logjam Lumberyard and Shifty Shafts before the Storm Circle inevitably closes.
What Does Sgt. Winter Drop?
Sgt. Winter’s semi-truck moves at a slow pace, dropping loot-filled presents. The few times we’ve found him resulted in four gifts. Once he’s done, Sgt. Winter’s Red-Nosed Rangers speed away and won’t drop anything more to your team. You can still follow him, but don’t expect additional presents. Sgt. Winter’s gifts include weapons, ammunition, healing items and building materials.
We’ve found an Epic Stinger SMG, Legendary Striker Shotgun, Epic MK-Seven Assault Rifle in presents. That should give you a good idea of what to expect when Sgt. Winter throws them toward your team. While friendly, remember that the bearded NPC comes armed and will attack if you or your teammates fire the first shot. Treat Sgt. Winter with respect, and you’ll be rewarded handsomely.
