NME Awards 2022: LeighAnne Pinnock joins chic Ellie Goulding on the starstudded red carpet

Stars of the music world were out in force for the NME Awards on Wednesday night held at London's O2 Academy Brixton.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Ellie Goulding led the famous faces posing on the red carpet, with Leigh-Anne showing off her incredible figure in a daring white crop top while Ellie wore a chic white suit. 

The Little Mix star, 30, - who gave birth to twins last August - flaunted her incredible abs and post baby body in the top which showed a glimpse of her ample assets and was teamed with baggy trousers.

Singer Ellie, 35, showed off her perfect sense of style in a white suit which had silver sparkly details on the lapels and down her legs.

The songstress wore her hair in blonde dreadlocks and sported a glamorous coat of make-up, with a bronze eye look and slick of gloss.

The OnlyFans star, 24, was sporting heavy black eye make-up, simarly to the look the Uncut Gems star, 32, has been rocking in recent months.

Taking further style inspo, Lottie was wearing a strapless form-fitting black PVC dress, which highlighted her ample assets.

Daisy May Cooper took to the stage for presenting duties at the event, and jokingly quipped: 'Let's go in the toilets and do loads of sniff!'

Sam Fender, Adam Lambert, the band CHVRCHES and Joséphine de La Baume led the early arrivals on the red carpet.

Sam, 27, - who is nominated for four awards - looked typically casual in a black and white jacket and black jeans as he posed for the camera.

While Adam wore a navy and white striped jacket worn over a cut-out T-shirt with PVC black trousers and heeled boots. 

During the bash Adam exclusively told MailOnline about his upcoming projects: 'I'm working on a concept album. It's a musical yes. It's a dream team of collaborators here in London and we're all very very excited. We have producers, we have a playwright now, it's really exciting.'

When asked who he has been most starstruck with he said: 'Madonna, I think when you meet someone you watched growing up as a child it's super surreal. Oh yeah I would love to work on her new remix album, that would be fun, yeah she's brilliant.' 

Joséphine de La Baume - who started the rock and garage group Film Noir in 2018 - was at the awards and wore a purple mini dress that had a strapless design and was paired with sheer tights.  

She was joined by model Rafferty Law who looked smart in a beige suit and black jumper as he cosied up to the star.

Sigrid also attended and spoke to MailOnline at the event, saying: 'I'm most looking forward to drinks tonight. I'm a mess when I'm drunk. I'm really excited to perform and sing with Griff. There are lot of peers who I look up to so I'm really nervous.'  

Elsewhere Nick Grimshaw spoke to MailOnline about leaving Radio 1 last year, saying: 'I wanted to have 6 months or a year off. I don't really miss radio, it's a funny one, I wanted to miss it, my plan was to leave radio and have a month off but then I got this new show and that took me up right until Xmas

'When I was off I didn't miss it but I miss the conversation. I don't know if I would go into podcast. I think when they're good, they're good but they can be a bit rubbish can't they.'

Billie Eilish, Sam Fender and Wolf Alice are leading the nominations at the awards ceremony. 

The ceremony will be co-hosted by comedian Daisy May Cooper and Grime star Lady Leshurr and will feature performances from Griff, Rina Sawayama, BERWYN, CHVRCHES and Robert Smith of The Cure.

Bad Guy hitmaker Billie, 20, will contest for Best Solo Act In The World, Best Music Film for Billie Eilish: The World's A Little Blurry and Best Music Video for Happier Than Ever.

Indie star Sam, 27, will compete for the Best Album In The World and Best Album By A UK Artist prizes for Seventeen Going Under, while the album's title track received nods for Best Song In The World and Best Song By A UK Artist.

The Hypersonic Missiles hitmaker and Grammy-winner Billie will go head-to-head with The Weeknd, Grime star Dave, Arlo Parks, Rina Sawayama, and more, to be crowned Best Solo Act In The World.

Sam also received a nod for Best Solo Artist In The UK, along with Arlo, Dave, Simz and Rina.

As for Wolf Alice, the Ellie Rowsell-fronted group's Mercury Prize-nominated album, Blue Weekend, is up for Best Album In The World and Best Album By A UK Artist, and the Smile rockers are also shortlisted for Best Band In The World and Best Band From The UK. 

Elsewhere, International stars, including Lana Del Rey, BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, Lorde, and Megan The Stallion have been nominated for some of the major prizes.

BTS and Coldplay's My Universe secured a Best Collaboration nod and the K-Pop septet are also up for Best Song In The World for Butter.

Olivia is also up Best Song In The World for Good 4 U and Best New Act In The World.

Lorde's Solar Power also has a chance of winning the coveted Best Song In The World prize.

Ahead of the ceremony, it was announced that Bleachers' Jack Antonoff will be honoured with the Songwriter Award.  

Jack said: 'Looking at the company of artists who have received this award and I am absolutely humbled. This one goes out to everyone who writes and knows that sacred place it comes from. If you know it, it's a place you live in. This means the world to me.'

'To hear that Bleachers are also shortlisted for Best Live Act … well … that's the s**t. We play every show like the last night on earth. So this one means a hell of a lot to be recognized for it.' 

Liam Gallagher was unwell on the night and so couldn't collect his award, prompting boos from the audience.
