BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards: Little Mix and Love Island lead the winners

Little Mix and the cast of Love Island led the winners at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards on Sunday. 

The girls- Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson- celebrated with glee as they were announced victors of the Best British Group, beating The 1975, Clean Bandit, Rudimental and Years and Years.

Meanwhile, the Love Island alumni appeared overjoyed as they took to the stage to pick up their trophy for Best TV Show, fighting off competition from Game Of Thrones, Queer Eye and Blue Planet 2.  

Little Mix celebrated with glee as they were announced victors of the Best British Group at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards at Wembley Arena on Saturday

Taking to the podium, Jesy told the crowd at Wembley Arena: 'You guys are just the best fans in the world and thanks so much for the support you've given us over the last seven years.'

The former X Factor stars, who won the award for the second year running, displayed a more demure look in all-black ensemble as they posed for the star-studded event, with the girls scheduled to perform their latest hit Woman Like Me during the ceremony.

As the ceremony got under way, the cast of Love Island couldn't hide their delight at winning a trophy, with Kaz Crossley punching her hands in the air as Wes Nelson, Dani Dyer and Megan Barton Hanson gave an acceptance speech for the award.

She's a diva: And while Gemma Collins had her infamous fall at last year's ceremony, the TOWIE star lost out on being the Most Entertaining Celebrity, with Cardi B pipping her to the post

South Korean band BTS scored a double win in their respective categories for Best Media Social Star and Best International Star. 

The seven-member group fought off competition from The Carters, The Chainsmokers, Panic! At The Disco and 5 Seconds Of Summer for Best International Star, while para-athlete Kare Adenegan won BBC Young Sports Personality Of The Year. 

Winner of Best British Single was George Ezra with his summer smash hit Shotgun. The singer was up against the likes of Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran and Beyonce's duet to Perfect, Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa. 

Sexy: Perrie rocked a denim mini dress and biker shorts, while Jessie put on a sultry display in leather trousers and a black bra 

Despite missing out, Ed Sheeran didn't lose out overall though as he managed to scoop the prize for Best British Solo Artist.

And while Gemma Collins had her infamous fall at last year's ceremony, the TOWIE star lost out on being the Most Entertaining Celebrity, with Cardi B pipping her to the post. 

Ahead of the ceremony, Little Mix made a show-stopping entrance as they hit the red carpet with Jesy, 27, drawing attention to her ample cleavage in a plunging lace bra which she paired with a daring demi corset around her waist and a pair of wide leg trousers.

The Romford native worked her pink hued tresses into a long straight style with a nude lip and glittering eye look. 

Bandmate Perrie Edwards, 25, followed Jesy's fashion lead and donned a thigh-grazing mini dress for the festivities. 

She teamed the daring look a pair of strappy sandals, gold hoop earrings and delicate necklace while her golden mane was styled into a voluminous look.

27-year-old Leigh-Anne Pinnock slipped into a sheer mesh bodysuit with a pair of high-waisted denim jeans, which featured criss-cross gold chain detailing. 

Finally, Jade Thirlwall, 25, looked sensational in a bandeau crop top which she paired with a pair of sleek trousers and heels. 

Complementing her bandmates beauty looks, she styled her honey-hued hair down her back in a soft curl and sported a smokey eye look.  

Elsewhere, Georgia Kousoulou and Tallia Storm brought the glamour as they were the first to arrive to the carpet.

The TOWIE star, 27, and the Scottish singer, 19, showed off their love of animal print, turning heads as they posed in their animal print co-ordinates.  

Georgia ensured her surgically-enhanced cleavage was on display as she opted to go braless in the strapless snakeskin bandeau, while flashing a hint of her stomach with the matching high-waisted trousers. 

The reality starlet complemented her safari-inspired look with perspex heels and subtle touches of gold jewellery. 

Styling her blonde hair in a very high bun, Georgia proved she doesn't do things by half measures as she brought her signature Essex glamour to the red carpet with a full face of make-up.

The songstress, who hopes to release an album next year, told MailOnline she works out four times a week in order to stay in shape.

She said: I’m not naturally skinny, I hang out with all my London friends and they all eat their burgers and I’m here eating a salad. I workout four times a week, and you don’t even see it. I look in the mirror and think: What is the point? I honestly think its puberty because I’m not what I used to be, but I’m working really hard on it.'

Little Mix are set to storm the stage with their latest single Woman Like Me. The girlband will be joined by the likes of 5 Seconds of Summer, Hrvy, Jonas Blue and Liam Payne. 

The BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards have been running since 2008, and celebrates the passions of teenagers aged 14-17.

This year's proceedings sees awards given in the Best British and International Solo Artists categories, as well as Best British Sports Star, Best British Group, and Most Entertaining Celeb, and Best Vlogger.

Four Teen Heroes are also named at the event - an award which honours the outstanding selfless achievements of teens all around the UK.

Gemma Collins is rumoured to be returning to the awards later this year as a guest host.

The TOWIE star, 37, threatened to take legal action following the fall last October after plummeting through a hole which other stars were using to enter the stage.

However it appears that is now all in the past, as a source told The Sun that Radio 1 are keen to make amends with the reality favourite.  

The insider said: 'Last year's fall made worldwide headlines and the clip had millions of views online.

'Although it was genuinely scary for Gemma, it was a massive talking point and it's only helped her profile grow.
