How to Complete Rocket League Live Quests in Fortnite

Fortnite and Rocket League are crossing over during Rocket League Live, with special quests and cosmetic rewards available for Fortnite players who log in to watch the ongoing Rocket League World Championship live in-game. Players can tune in via Fortnite to watch matches live on the big screen between August 9th and August 14th, with quests that can be completed during match breaks for exclusive limited-time cosmetics. As Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 rolls on, players might just be looking for more exclusive cosmetics outside what's on offer in Fortnite's latest battle pass, and the Rocket League Live event is a great way to get some.

To access the Rocket League event and complete challenges, players first have to log on to the special Rocket League Live Island, a custom Fortnite level designed by the content creator walnutx404. The Rocket League Live Island is prominently featured under Fortnite Battle Royale's "Discover" tab at the moment, and players can easily find and select the mode from there. However, if this doesn't work, players can also access the island by entering a code. This involves choosing Fortnite's game mode selector and entering the code 8205-6994-2065 under the "Island Code" tab.

Rocket League Live is just one of the many exciting events in Fortnite's long and storied history. Once players successfully join a lobby, they'll be faced with a blue and orange portal and asked to choose whether they'd like to support the blue or orange team in any upcoming live Rocket League match. Every time a selected team scores a goal, their team in Fortnite receives power-ups. In addition, players who choose to support the winning team receive upgraded weapons in the next phase: Team Rumble, where all the event challenges can be completed.

Fortnite Rocket League Live Event Island Level From Character Perspective

Team Rumble is essentially a team deathmatch, with two teams of players battling it out and scoring eliminations. Although having upgraded weapons from supporting a winning team is nice, it doesn't substantially affect players' chance of taking out their opponents, so there's less pressure if the team players chose didn't win. On top of that, the four quests that players can complete are refreshingly simple, and unlike some of Fortnite's more unusual quests, players don't have to actively go out of their way to complete them:

  • Deal 250 Damage To Opponents at the RL Live Deathmatch
  • Deal 1500 Damage To Opponents at the RL Live Deathmatch
  • Eliminate 3 Opponents at the RL Live Deathmatch
  • Eliminate 7 Opponents at the RL Live Deathmatch

The event has encountered a bit of a snag: at the moment, the relevant quests seem to be bugged and appear to challenge players to deal one damage to opponents twice and eliminate one opponent twice. This would arguably make them the easiest Fortnite quests of all time, but players must do the challenges listed above, as Fortnite's official Twitter account has confirmed the correct values. Fortnite players can usually bounce around without problems, so it's a bit of an odd error. Players will also receive cosmetics for completing each of the four challenges:

  • The Golden Goal Spray for eliminating three opponents.
  • The Regal Rocket Glider for eliminating seven opponents.
  • The Nice Shot! Emoticon for dealing 250 damage.
  • The Rocket League Trophy Back Bling for dealing 1500 damage.

Players don't need to worry much about tracking these quests, as just playing a bit of team deathmatch is usually enough to get through them all. However, as this is a cross-promotional event that celebrates two video game properties owned and managed by Epic Games, Rocket League fans can also collect free cosmetics during this event. All players have to do is log on to Rocket League, head to the Extras tab under Settings and click Redeem Code. By entering the code RocketLeagueLive, they can receive the Neon Runner Banner, Hustle Brows Topper, Aero Mage Wheels, and RLCS Theme Anthem free of charge. Interested Fortnite players can also start playing Rocket League free of charge since the game went free-to-play in 2020.
